I store the mugs in the freezer. When filled with beverage--after removing from the freezer--the glass is so thick that it helps to keep the beverage cold for a very long time, without adding ice.While good for beer, it would also be good for making monster sized root beer floats.

Everything you'd expect of a classic stein mug: drop proof glass, good in microwave and freezer, massive yet comfortable to hold. These glasses tend to be a bit pricey but worth every penny, especially if you have butterfingers

Fiance loves getting a big thunder mug of beer when we eat at this restaurant in town, so I hot him his own :) So far it seems sturdy and well made. Holds a buttload of beer/cider/whatever you like. A hefty beast that I hope my guy can enjoy for years to come.
