Before I commenced the job I ran a few on a test piece of SHS, the first 2 failed, ie the nut went in but there was little strength when the rivnut was tightened. I ran 5 more tests and all failed with the same poor strength.To compare I ran 3 Stainless Steel M8s I had spare on the same SHS and all provided super strength and did not buckle and spin until I REALLY cranked up the load.I threw rest in the bin and consider it a lesson learned and will go look for high quality steel or buy a load of stainless steel M8s.
