I was sent a broken, returned item. The blotting paper was open and half used. The knob was shattered and sharp. The frame itself was splintered apart.

I received this bamboo flower press and had no trouble assembling it with the video help from the item listing.Afterward, I set a heavy task for the press by pressing basic leaves and a large lily flower in one go. I left it for 8 days, tightening it occasionally to ensure continued pressure. The lily is still damp, as are the drying pads, which are quite stained. However, the leaves were very well preserved despite their juicy neighbour, which I think shows the power of the press to handle things of various thicknesses. Another time, I wouldn't choose such thick and water-filled flower. My only concern is the reusability of the drying pads and blotting papers - if I run out, I am not sure where to get more, especially of the appropriate size. Without those, the press is not usable. One other final thought - I don't know why the listing says "Microwave". There is nothing microwavable here - there is metal in the screws and press handle.

Our one kid loves flowers and so we were excited to try this out to take their flowers and let them do more than turn to dust in a day. We set it up accordingy to the instructions included with the set and left it overnight and a full day. It tightened up fairly easily and the paper materials seemed thick and good enough. When we went to open the press however the flower was stuck to the top pressing board. Turns out the instructions given were incorrect and that you needed extra layers between the top of the press and flower (which is clear from the listing but not in the included instructions). The pressing seemed to work and the flower was quite flat, however it would be nice to have a product that included proper instructions. Also, I'm not sure if you're supposed to re-use the papers that are included with the set, but if not it will be difficult to use it again as there aren't that many papers included.

I really wanted to love this. But after examining it, the quality of materials is poor and so is the craftsmanship. Not a good value. There are mechanized tool marks scuffed into the glued plywood boards and the felt pads on the bottom are unequally spaced. This is supposed to provide equal, distributed pressure and I don’t see it performing like that. The plus side of this product is the included paper sheet- they appear and feel like they are heavy felted paper for watercolors. No telling if the paper is acid free though, and it is likely to warp under uneven pressure and yellow over time if not acid free (this is only relevant if you plan to extract some color from flowers on a single sheet). Still, it came with nice paper and panels but again- without knowing the paper type I can’t fully endorse it. The broken glued handle holding the pressure bar is a bummer. Maybe I can glue it back together and attempt to use it. But for the price, this should have been properly crafted.
