Worked perfectly. Looks beautiful. Did the job. My storm door is not burning with sun heat anymore. Fully recommended.

As with anything that sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Even after following the instructions meticulously, it still started peeling at the edges and looks awful on the window.

I had to return this product because it was severly damaged in shipping BUT I am no stranger to Gila products. I have installed this same product onto a few windows in my home and it works extremely well. When they say blocks 70% heat they mean it. The ONLY con to this stuff is applying it. You MUST have patience and take it very slow and make sure the window surface inside and out is super clean, Do NOT apply this film on a sunny day NEVER! The solution will dry up way to fast. One window ( 24 inch X 50 inch) takes me 1 hour to do I highly recommend this product especially for blocking out the heat

Bought this giant roll at the end of June, installed the day my electric bill ended for the billing period. My electric bill for June was $183, I could feel the heat every evening, and there was hot spots throughout the house. After installation, I don't need to draw the blackout curtains, the temperature is more even, and my electric bill went down $38 with no other changes being made. I had a temperature monitor in the living room, kept the AC the same, and the results are pretty clear. Installed easy, good price, happy with this purchase.

This purchase was a replacement for Gila film I had installed about 15 years ago on my glass ( screen) front door which protects my mahogany wood front door from the elements. The film lasted that long and only began to slightly deteriorate in terms of appearance. Removal of old Gila film was easy, just a bit time consuming, probably about 30 min between removal and cleaning any residual adhesive. I then installed the new Gila film on the glass door and it's sparkling new and is excellent at reducing heat and almost all UV rays which damage wood doors. The level of transparency is excellent and crystal clear though it does have the look as if one were looking through UV sunglasses..which is exactly what is needed to protect from UV rays and solar heat rays. Gila films are excellent and the average handy homeowner can install it. It's just as easy as applying wall paper or contact paper. FOLLOW directions to avoid creases and bubbles. Use the recommended Gila installation instruments.

Used this on two large windows that get the full afternoon sun. The house gets very hot and mostly due to all the glass windows facing west absorbing the worst heat of the day. I didn’t want the tint too dark, I want the view but not the heat. I went with the 73% and it absolutely made a difference. Before you could feel the heat radiating off the glass, it was so hot you’d sweat just walking past it. Now I can stand in front of it and feel how much cooler it is. I was able to install it fairly easily with the help of my son (we did make a mistake lining it up on the first window so the bottom corner is missing tint - first time user error). With the size I purchased- 48” wide, you’ll definitely need 2 people to do it right. It’s important on installation that you don’t forget to remove the protective laminate on the reflective side that goes on the glass. It is a pain to get it started, I wish the mfgr would install a tab just to get it going. And since this has worked soo well, I’ll be purchasing more to put in other rooms of the house. Definitely recommend.

Using product to hopefully reduce the heat buildup in our home. It was easy to install with simple directions. It will take awhile to see if the results are positive.

It does work as advertised regarding heat absorption; however you get a lot of bubbles that are very difficult to eliminate. The adhesive side is very sticky, those people who say it doesn't stick obviously did not read the instructions and did not remove the clear sheet.

My windows face south and get FULL FLORIDA sun all day long! It was unbearable and my AC could not keep up. Measured temp on window seat w/o the film at 109F. Put up the film and measured at 84F.Totally worth it! I had been living like a vampire with 2 layers of curtains AND blinds. Now I can at least open the curtains and get some natural light in. Will likely not open the blinds till winter time..but still difference in temp is LEGIT and my apartment feels much more comfortable. Hoping to see the difference in electric bill as well.

Wanted to apply a tint to my home/office window to reduce UV and heat transmission during the day (live in sunny SW USA).Never installed a window tint, but it looked like something I might be able to do myself (for just one set of windows). Gila got decent reviews and price was reasonable. Also ordered a tint application kit (mainly squeegees and stuff to help squeeze out bubbles) - probably a must. Make yourself the spray solution of dilute baby shampoo.Plenty of videos out there to help with window prep and install - these are pretty essential to knowing what to expect and what to do. Install during the day will help with visualizing water/air bubbles and squeezing them out. I installed in the evening, and it got dark out for the second window install. Harder to see the tint. A second pair of hands is pretty essential too. I had a 9 year old pair help for the first window which went well. Thought I could try myself for the second window, and ended up folding the tint onto itself and getting some permanent creases into the tint... learn from my mistake and keep a second pair around (even a 9 yo pair of hands is indispensable for beginners)! ALSO: make sure your utility knife is SHARP! I used the same blade for both windows, and it started to get dull on the second window, tearing the tint in some places rather than cutting clean. This was very frustrating. In the end, was a successful install. Most bubbles were squeezed out, and what tiny residual bubbles that were left dried out over the next few days as well. Tint is clear and feels suitably thick and durable to my inexperienced eyes and fingers. Very noticeable reduction in heat, which I am super happy with. My main minor quibble would be that there's a pretty noticeable blue tint. Gila is apparently widely available at big box home improvement stores, so if this is a concern, you should take a look at it yourself to see if you like it. I did not and this is a minor regret.TLDR: VERY noticeable reduction in heat transmission! Nice clear tint after successful install, but with a noticeable blue tint. Watch videos. Make sure your windows are CLEAN before install. Install during day if you can. Get a second pair of hands to help also. Change blades often.
