I’ve used these on several of my guitars. They play well & sound great!

These are easily the worst strings I've ever used. I like flat-wound, I love half-round, so I figured I'd try these roller-wound strings.First off, the tuning stability is awful. I've never encountered such chaotic and extreme detuning with any other set of strings. Within just a single day, my entire guitar will go completely out of tune several times, and it's utterly random which direction each string goes. It's truly remarkable.Second, if you're looking for a flat or half-wound feel, look elsewhere. These might as well be marketed as normal strings because there is basically no difference. I use half-wounds to reduce the scratch noise when playing fingerstyle, and these strings are just as rough as your normal strings. Also, I've read that pure nickel won't corrode, but I swear these strings are looking awful after just a week of playing.Pass on these.

The smoothness of the strings. Bends easily and the tone of the strings are warm.

I put the EMG powered tele pups in a partscaster I built. The Sub-Zero Boomers I put on most of my teles were real thin and ice-picky above the 12th fret. Got these and mellowed it right out. Now the guitar is a fave, and they give me more sustain too.

Cordes durables.

Strings of choice, but just too expensive, usual GHS high quality and longevity, keep their tone even after lengthy use, if you can afford them ,don't think twice, you won't be disappointed. There are pure nickel alternatives at half the price, but.

#1 They are pure nickle (not plated.) Because they are a bit softer, they are easy on the frets.#2 They produce a slightly deeper sound. That is cool with me as I can always dial up all the treble I want with my amp and EQ.#3 They feel fantastic on the finger tips. They are all I will use going forward.

Excellent strings and packaging. Each string is individually packed in an air tight partially transparent packet. The roller winding process gives them a smooth semi flat wound type feel without the extra tension and no finger noise. The tone is warm and woody, the shrill top end is hundred times more pleasant. Very good mid response too. Think Eric Johnson, he used to use this very same set till the 90's where changed to just thicker gauges on the bass side on the same string set and eventually launched his own version as a signature set. (Amazing set btw!)

I used DR Pure Blues for stringing up my Fender Stratocaster with Custom '69 pickups because they were a bit warmer sounding than regular strings. But honestly the high E string just never felt right to me for bending and more importantly kept breaking after a couple weeks or so just when they started to feel good. Still I put up with them because of the sound but no more!I would have probably made the switch sooner to GHS Nickel Rockers but they were never available at any of the stores I frequent. After purchasing GHS Boomers at one of these stores and liking them for what they were tonally I finally committed to ordering the Nickel Rockers I always wanted to try. These strings are great sounding and feeling! It's all subjective as we know... but I like how they mellow my pickups and feel when playing. YMMV. More importantly, they bend well right out of the box and no broken strings yet!

I'm a GHS fan. I use them for all my electric guitars. I ordered the nickel rockers for my SG for the classic tone and I'm happy with them. The only issue I have is they do not come in the sealed package shown. They come in the older open folder style packaging. I'm glad I didnt buy extras as I'm not certain they'd be fresh for next change.

I've been using Boomers for a while now and ave been very happy with them over most other strings. I also used DR Blues quite a bit and I loved their feel and tone. I finally had to give up on them though because of nagging string buzz and dead strings (The wound ones mostly) eve though I installed them carefully and correctly just like they suggest. They definitely don't like being top-wrapped but I also had the same problems going straight thru the ABR-1.Having said all that, these strings are very similar (if not better) than the the DR Blues and have none of the buzzing issues, etc. They even top-wrap and sound great. They are a bit warmer than Boomers so work better in certain guitars I think. They're called 'rockers' but I find they are nice for blues. Really good tone, feel and sustain. Very nice strings.
