Strings are always a matter of finding what sounds best with your instrument. I like the bright tone of these strings, and although some players have told me they need time to "calm down" with their instruments, these sound great with mine from the get go. I can't complain about the price either - sure beats what I have to pay for violin strings...

Was apprehensive at first but have grown to love them on my Bovier mandolin. Bright clean sound! Great value.

A novice mandoliner here and snagged the strings at a superb price. They hold up well over time with decent use ( I play mine 3 or so days a week for 30 min - hr) and still have good sound with minimal rusting. If I played more often or outside of my house lol, I'd probably spring for something a bit more expensive but for now I'll stick to these GHS strings.

I am a bad-ass mandolin player since I switched to these ghs strings. Before I made the switch I had bad tone, ridiculously sloppy timing, and an overall bad attitude. My band members said something had to change or I was going to have to strike out on my own. This is was what worked for me so I highly recommend these strings.

As a fairly new mandolin player I've been trying different types of strings to find the best sound for my instrument (Epiphone MM-50E) and so far of the strings I've tried, this set is the best for the sound I'm trying to get out of my instrument -- not too bright so as to sound tinny, but with enough brilliance to project very nicely and blend nicely with my violinist-wife's sound.
