This seal fit my gerber toilet tank, others that stated it did, were wrong

I'd never even heard of Gerber toilets before. Ours started leaking, so we had to replace the tank bolts and gasket. The manufacture date was in 1988! After getting the gasket on and setting the tank on the bowl, I worried that it was TOO big. We just kept tightening the bolts, and it turned out just fine! Solid, no wobble, no leaks.

I have a historic Gerber Toilet Model# 21752, also A11 underneath the tank lid. This gasket worked perfectly, no leaks at all.It is rigid/firm compared to the others. The Home Depot “Extra Thick $4 special” is junk and practically the same as the fluidmaster gasket. Don’t waste your time and money.Buy this gasket if you have an ancient Gerber toilet like I do!

Fit my 1989 Gerber toilet that was stamped with A1 (35 years old). Not sure if that is the toilet model or grade, but after reading a ton of reviews on tank bowl gaskets, this pricey green model seemed to be the best way to go. It's not cheap, & I don't know of other gaskets may work, but it didn't leak. Gerber toilets are hard to seal but this worked. Also got brass bolts and brass washers with rubber washers every time there was porcelain contact (inside and outside tank, and under side of bowl). Got that suggestion from one of the many you tube vids to see how to install and avoid leaks. Here's the kit I got for the bolts:Jwodo Brass Toilet Tank Bolts,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094Z7BR8J?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I tried a couple of these gaskets from the local hardware store. Both a huge disappointment as they started to leak. This one is extra thick and just works. This is the one to get for a Gerber toilet

The inner opening was larger enough to fit over the valve lugnut and thick enough for no leaks! I know this one is more expensive then the other gaskets, but save yourself the headaches and frustration and get this one now. No picture to show effectiveness, but trust me, IT WORKS!

This is the correct size for your Gerber toilet. I tried one of those universal kits, and that didn't work. This, however, worked fine and does not leak at all. But, it just costs way too much for a piece of rubber. Seriously, why can't those generic brands make something the right size? Anyway, I'm happy that my toilet is no longer leaking and that I didn't need a plumber. Here's a little hint: use some vaseline on some of the joints to improve the seal.

Bigger than the standard red ones. Works with Gerber toilets.- This gasket is about 1/2 centimeter taller than the standard red ones that come the Fluidmaster universal kits.- The main inner diameter is the same.- The main outer diameter is slightly larger.- There is also a "ridge" or "bevel" on the other side (not shown in the Amazon picture) to allow the gasket to fit over the tank discharge nut. The inner diameter of the bevel/ridge is slightly larger than the universal gaskets.- Some gaskets are "spongy" and some are "rubbery." This rubbery and isn't as squishy as the spongy ones.NOTE: The red universal gaskets appear to fit correctly for Gerber toilets, but you may get water drops on the floor each time the toilet is flushed. If you put the tank back on the base and it sits flush (without rocking from side to side) before tightening the tank down to the base, then your gasket is too small. With this green one, the tank rocks back and forth on the gasket until the tank is tightened all the way down... so you know it's compressing and sealing correctly. Don't over tighten or you could break the tank! This gasket came with a really nice one page diagram of a toilet and instructions. The instructions mention in a couple places not to over-tighten parts. If you've gotten far enough to know to purchase a toilet gasket, then the odds are pretty slim that you still need instructions... but it was a nice touch. Also, I noticed that the FluidMaster Universal kits come with pretty good instructions and specifically state that the gasket in those kits will not fit Gerber or Kohler toilets.
