This seems like a super handy tool, but the reality is that because it's hard plastic, the eyes don't stay in place. The side with the rounded indentation (where the "eye" part would go) should have some kind of non-slip padding, like silicon or rubber or foam paper. When you try to put a backing on a safety eye, the eye just tips over. Also, for larger eyes and smaller backs, I'm not sure the handles are strong enough. They do start to bend.

This tool works just fine with no issues! It makes attaching safety eyes much easier compared to struggling with your fingers. The grip and leverage save time and effort, especially for tighter fits. If you use safety eyes frequently, this is a handy little helper worth having.

After seeing many crocheters say this was a good product, I decided to try it myself with some difficult safety eyes. I'd had trouble for a while with them and was hurting my hands to get them fastened properly and safely and was frankly very tired of using my whole body weight to press a little washer in.This tool unfortunately, was not the way to go. The eyes slip out of it and the general strength needed to press it is just as bad as I had to before, but now I have another clunky piece of plastic digging into my fingers. It hurts and as a crocheters I need my hands. And in the end, I resorted to some pliers from the hardware store to get a semblance of relief because this tool did nothing. The one time I hoped it had secured an eye while testing it, it popped back out with such a force that it chipped itself on the floor.

This is the best product I’ve gotten for my crochet by far!!!! Works so well and easy. I bought a different product at first that claimed to be for safety eyes and definitely was not. This for sure is for safety eyes. With the concaved part for the eye itself so it doesn’t slip and the way the other side is big enough to actually fit the backing. It’s just so perfect and now I don’t have to kill my fingers and nails lol. 10/10 would recommend

I bought this tool before purchasing the CraftEasyTools one, because they look very similar, and the description said it supports up to size 30mm safety eyes. This may be the case for flat back eyes, but with the heavy duty sinker eyes, not so much. I put as much force as possible on it, trying to get it to snap, but to no avail! I'm keeping these for the other eyes (mostly to get the backs to snap down a little further than I can with my hands), but I ordered the other one from the other brand to do the harder ones!Edit to add: the seller is amazing, and asked for more feedback. I really appreciate someone who cares about their customers, and because of that I added another star! :)
