OEM product worked as soon as replaced. Takes a little more time and with the right tools it is worth it. Old black trunk release pad was melted. The screws would not come out and your fingers looked like you just stuck them in a bucket of driveway sealer.

After inheriting the 2008 Toyota Sienna van when mom passed I found the back door latch for the rear hatch malfunctioned. I was happy to find it listed on Amazon. It was easy to change and it works like new. So thankful I didn’t have to go through the dealer.

This replacement requires a bit of knowledge.First of all you have to snap the entire back door panel from the door to uninstall the old one.Once that is all done you will notice that the original one from factory is a four wire switch connector. (black/red/green/orange).The new one purchased is only a 2 wire (red and black) and the adapter connection is much smaller too.To work around this, just cut (only) the old red/black wires halfway from the old Switch Assembly and from the new Switch Assembly and tie the wires from the new switch to the existing red/black wires. This way the other two wires and its purpose are not disturbed (white and orange)Once that is all done you can put everything back the way it was.Hope this helps.

I was lead to believe that this handle part was the problem with my lift-gate not opening. Replaced the part and found it must be somewhere down the line from that...still trying to find out what the problem is.This part is half the price of what the dealer charges.

Working great. There is some confusion out there regarding Lexus part numbers for vehicles that are made in Japan vs. USA. The USA part number does fit the Japan built 2004 Lexus RX330 and is an exact replacement even though a Lexus dealer quoted a different part number and said this one was not a match for the Japan build vehicle. It is a bit tricky to remove the exterior trim piece on the vehicle needed to do the replacement. But part is Genuine Toyota and an exact match to the OEM part that lasted 13 yrs.

I have 2007 Toyota Sienna and the rear tailgate door switch had started to deteriorate and become sticky. I have found this is a common problem with this model that many people have complained about. This door switch was the perfect fit and works great. I was a little intimidated to replace it since I had to remove the interior panel from the tailgate. It is similar to removing a door panel on a car, so in the end it was not terribly difficult. One the panel was off, it is just a few screws and a plug, so it goes quickly. Once it was done, I wished I hadn't waited so long. I definitely recommend this product, and if you have concerns about the difficulty. search the repair and find a youtube video.

Five stars to Amazon. Everything wend smooth from ordering, delivery and packaging. The product fits perfectly my Toyota Sienna 2008 CE. I hope this time the rubber last longer. Already installed and works like a charm.

Bought this to replace my melted rear hatch door switch on my Toyota Sienna minivan. I was frustrated with having black, sticky goop on my finger every time I opened the rear hatch, which did not clean off easily either. And with 3 young kids, I was opening it often to get strollers and other stuff out of the back. I read in some online forums that people were taking their vehicles to dealerships because of the melted handle problem and the dealerships would charge a ton of money for them to replace it. Someone suggested some "how-to" videos on you-tube and purchasing the replacement handle switch on Amazon and doing it yourself. After watching the video all the way through I saw that it was pretty simple and decided to tackle this myself. Checked with my husband and he said go for it, so I purchased this and replaced it easily following the instructions in the video. And I'm so happy now to not have black sticky fingers anymore.
