I have a 2017 subaru forrester and one day recently stopped by an auto part store because I needed new windshield wipers. The guy who put the wipers on for me suggested to also purchased the wiper fluid, RainX to put inside the reservoir. I purchased it. Took it home and stored it away because my tank was still full. I always have my car serviced at Subaru and allow them to top off my fluids.After maybe a month or so, I asked my husband to check the fluid level. It was low so, he added the Rainex.Within a few weeks, the wiper maintenance light came on. My husband checked the fluid level, it was still full. So, we assumed the sensor needed replacing but Subaru requires replacing the whole reservoir. Expensive! So, I started researching to see if anyone else had the same issue I was having and found some people. I read suggestions on what they tried but one suggestion stuck with me and that was to use genuine subaru windshield wiper fluid. I found on Amazon.I ran all of the Rainex out of the reservoir and followed directions from the subaru washer fluid and filled the reservoir. (I'm wondering now if the RainX should have been diluted also). Anyway, the light didn't go off immediately but after a few weeks, it went off! And hasn't come back on! This stuff saved me money!

Subaru does it all by supplying its very own brand and product for its very own vehicles and such, it works great for my Subaru legacy and have no problem at all.

It was great to be able to purchase the factory quality product on Amazon since my local subaru dealership was out over winter months. However, having to take time to do measurements and dilute it was a bit time consuming. Plus, after multiple use over the past few weeks during highway travel as the weather is warming up, it seems that getting bug guts off of windshield (even immediately after they get splattered on) take a bit of effort with multiple sprays. Not sure if this solution is like the RidX brand with pre-treatment for windshield debris but I did dilute it properly. Still, a good buy.
