Well I was very happy with this purchase and once I figured out the problem and I could fix myself with this part I was extremely happy. But less than 3 months later this one is cracked also. I don't understand and not sure if I have any other options but will have to look for alternatives.

Watched a YouTube video on swapping the part out because I feared I would have problems with the two water lines. Installation was a breeze, and I wish I would have replaced this leaking base sooner rather than later. Nice to be able to use water chiller from door and to use ice maker rather than ice trays.12-19-2022 UPDATE - Once again, this housing has failed exactly four years after I installed this replacement. It is plainly obvious that the plastic used for the manufacture of this replacement "genuine" OEM part is substandard and and lower quality than the original housing (which lasted 15 years). I may take this part and roughen up the surfaces around the location of the leak and attempt a repair with JB Weld plastic epoxy and see if it holds up to the water pressure. This fridge is 20 years old, and I had to install a piercing valve on the suction side near the compressor so that refrigerant R-134 could be added to the system (had nearly stopped cooling and would not freeze). These systems leak a tiny bit of refrigerant through the compressor shaft seal each year, but the manufacturers fill the systems during assembly - then remove the Schrader valves and seal the system. making it impossible to add refrigerant without specific knowledge. I used my automotive gauges to refill the system enough to get the suction side out of the negative range. It works perfectly now and no further issues with cooling. No telling how many thousands of refrigerators/freezers are thrown out and replaced because of the gradual loss of refrigerant. The piercing valve I purchased on Amazon, of course!!

Perfect fit, no complaints. Just be sure to keep all of the old fittings and gasket since it is only this piece with no extras.

Perfect fit for the fridge.Housing is white, not the grey that appears in the picture. The grey look is apparently an artifact of the way the photo was taken.

replaced my frozen and busted housing. I went away for a few days and when I came back the unit had burst . Good thing I had turned off the water feeding the icemaker.
