Your Kit will have a specimen randomly chosen from those shown. Each piece of amber is tiny, and averages about 3/8"-1/2" in length (some may only slightly larger than a bb but an insect is there!). Formed over 45 million years ago, Baltic Amber is an organic substance, a “fossil resin” produced by pine trees which grew in Northern Europe - from southern regions of the present day Scandinavia and nearby regions of the bed of the Baltic Sea.

My 9 year old nephew is happy. Keep in mind it is tiny and the bug was so small I could not tell if it was really a bug or a splinter.

I don't expect a huge specimen but I couldn't tell what part was insect or amber blemish. I would not purchase again but my son thinks it is cool.

Pretty pitiful. Of all the pieces shown in the pic this one was way way way smaller and no noticeable insect in it.

Great amber insect for kids. As others have stated it is small, but it is amber and does have an insect. Even small our son loved it much more than the larger plastic types since it is a real part of history.
great game

This gift was a hit with my 7 year old. He’s into all things Jurassic Park/World and saw this at the beginning of Jurrasic Park. He wanted to know if was a real thing. He loved it so much he carried it in his pocket all day and showed it to everyone who would listen.

This piece of amber with a bug inclusion was an interesting lab specimen for my science classes! While the piece was cut a bit too close to the insect causing the light to reflect away from the insect, we were still able to view most of it's body with a 10x jewelers loupe and strategic lighting. Fun!
