A drop in replacement for my 20 year old GE capacitor of my Bryant central air ac unit! The fan didn’t have enough electricity to spin and the condenser didn’t come on but now with this part, all is well again. The cap on the old was clearly swelled and the new was clearly not.20 more years? We’ll need to wait and see.

This seems to be OEM replacement for GE caps (they sold and renamed the manufacturer). It is correct diameter to fit into existing Tempstar AC unit and a bit shorter. Make sure you measure physical dimensions of your existing AC capacitor before ordering replacement. Took five minutes to replace and saved $500 which I heard is what AC repair technician would charge.

Took a wild guess that this was the reason my ac unit fan wasn’t moving. Unit is only 5 years old, put it in and it started instantly. Very happy and much cooler now.

I purchased this capacitor after the a/c guy had come by and repaired my a/c for it to go out again three days later. I didn't think it was the capacitor, but I thought, why not try because I had nothing to lose? The temperature was around 100 degrees, and the house was at 90 degrees. The part arrived the following morning and I went out and replaced the one the a/c guy put on. I turned the breaker back on, and BOOM, it started right up after a little washdown. The a/c has been pushing out some of the coolest air I have ever felt from that unit.

Woke up yesterday morning to a warm, stuffy room. Nice! Spent some time with some basic troubleshooting. No dice!After exhausting the basics, I discovered my condenser fan wasn't coming on. I could hear the motor buzzing, though. I gave it a spin with a stick, and it slowly started building up speed. Yeeha! I thought, maybe a bad motor, but maybe I can limp it until I find a replacement. Nooooo. Maxed out at a low speed, sounding like it kept wanting to go faster, but couldn't. Started looking around a bit more.Did some more research and found a few videos talking about the symptoms of a bad start/run capacitor. Sure sounded like my situation. Ordered this one, and it arrived today - next day.Spent maybe an hour, taking my time, getting it swapped out and checking some stuff. Fan started up properly, but my system was stuck in heat mode. Shut everything off a couple of times, but it took me switching it into Heat mode, then off for a while, then on again in Cool for it to actually switch to cooling.Cooling again for $35 for the capacitor and breaker, and a little time researching. Not to take away from the HVAC pros - I don't get a full system check-out doing this stuff myself. This system's American Standard, only 5yrs old. I do have the 5+5 warranty on it, but I swear, the old Trane I had when I bought this place ran longer, trouble-free, and it was already old when I got here...

Replaced a GE 97F9895 capacitor in a Carrier AC when the compressor and fan would not turn on. The replacement Genteq capacitor is slightly shorter in length and fits perfectly in the bracket. AC started perfectly on change out and continues to work well. Excellent product. Would purchase again. Fair price and quick shipping.
