I got a chance to use this in a recent power outage during a rain storm and it worked just as advertised. The control panel stayed dry, the generator ran fine.

I ordered this cover for my Predator 5000W inverter portable generator. I ordered by size dimension and to my surprise GEN TENT E-mailed me to determine manufacture and model to insure correct choice was made. This cover is more money than the cheap options out there, but the quality makes it a great choice. A portable generator is an important investment in both safety and convenience, so why go inferior on a cover? installation is easy and quality is top notch!

It was as described in ad. Have not had to use it yet but set up is as described and the short test run was fine but should it not perform as advertised I will be in touch with you.

Overall all good protection but the openings area to access the start/stop buttons and other button options do not align with my specific inverter. It is functional and it works.

The GentTent is a well-made product, and my version is for an enclosed inverter generator. (Westinghouse iGen4500DF dual fuel only ever run on propane). I spent some time 'practicing' with it and trying things out. Her's what's I found missing in the manual. On my generator the grommets at the front and back are different heights. The front to back and side to side measurements are different. You also need a tape measure to set the arms up.However, if you take one of the frame rods and some tape or a marker you can mark the rod and use it as a yardstick. Mine is marked at 6 1/2" ground to grommet for the front, 7 1/2" ground to grommet at the back, 24" for the side to side (23 to 25") and 35" for the front to back (34-36). So, I can assemble the frame without finding a tape measure. Also to help, I put some tape on the corners of the generator at the top of the grommets. If you are inclined and are sure of the locations, you can use marker instead.I've not yet tested this in the rain.I also laminated (waterproof!!!) a copy of the manual page 12 (layout sizes) and a diagram of the front panel of my generator as it is hidden when the GenTent is deployed. However, on my generator most controls are easily accessible by lifting the top flap/cover and peering down without opening the skirt.I'recommend the GenTent for anyone with a generator they need to run in the rain.PS their customer service is excellent too. They messaged to ensure I had the correct version and offered assistance in the setting up.SteveD

Qualit;y materials, but price seems very high for what's offered. Does not work with generators with exhaust near the top, does not fit some larger inverter generators. If your generator won't fit in a rectangle a little smaller than 24x34 inches, the chances are the cover won't fit. Don't take the manufacturer's word for it. Better set it up well before it starts to rain, because the setup is a hassle.

We received our GenTent Extreme today. I pulled out my generator and installed the GenTent. It took me about 20 to 30 minutes. Fit my generator perfectly. The grommets and extension included worked out great and it was easy to set it up within the recommended measurements. After installing the cover and the control panel shield I thought I would test the GenTent. I turned on my garden hose and used my leave blower to simulate rain and strong winds. The GenTent easily did its job in keeping water off the control panel. It also handled the strong wind from the leaf blower. Now I am ready for the remainder of hurricane season and the oncoming snowy winter. Thanks GenTent!

This is the second Gentent we have purchased as we got a new generator. These are amazing and work fantastic and protect all the electrical plugs etc. Instructions were clear, a little hard to put on with one person. Would highly recommend.

Received the product yesterday and put it together. yeah its a little tough when you are by yourself , but I put all the corner pieces together on the strap, and it was quite the challenge. However after playing around with it for about 15 minutes ,, I decided to just get some duct tape and tape the corner pieces to where I wanted them and then tighten the strap took less than 5 mins.... the rest was super easy . the tent looks like good quality , and looking forward to trying it in the rain and snow. I also watched, the installation vides on the gentent website which helped me a lot ! Overall I'm impressed with the product !!!

Took a little while to assemble. Fit our generator and looks like it will keep the rain and snow out very well. Only ran it a short while with the tent on, and it was not raining. But looks like it will do the job.

Well I finally broke down and fronted the money for a properly engineered dome to cover my inverter generator.I was trying to look up other ways to DIY but after doing one for a smaller unit years back, I realized the cost would be about the same and having to put everything together with no guarantee that it would hold.Basically it does fit nicely. The instructions could have been a bit clearly for the framing portion. But after that it is very straight forward. And like someone else said on here, don't wait for a rain storm to assemble this.I found that it covers nicely but I just wish they would have at least two panel flaps to have it hang a bit lower and to prevent sideways rain, snow. (Reason for only 4 stars) I ended up buying a second flap from the manufacturer directly just before they sent out the order. It was only an extra 9.99 usd as opposed to 47$ from some sellers on here. The material is of good quality. They answer your questions immediately mon to Friday with their online support. At first it might not seem worth it, but if you want to protect your investment and mitigate the risk of getting electrocuted then I say go with this. Also, this looks really good. Doesn't look like crap sitting on your property. It actually cuts the noise down by 2 to 3 dB.

I am using this on my Briggs & Stratton inverter generator. I have had this running in 40mph winds on the bow of my boat and it worked great. I ran into a small problem, contacted GenTent and they resolved everything immediately - no hassle. I highly recommend this product.
