My daughter is a beginner archer, and she’s been pining after a compound bow. This is not a sport that I as her mother was into, or had very much knowledge about, so when I did a quick for a compound bow this came up and it was a pretty good deal, or so, I thought upon bringing it to her instructor, this is actually not a compound bow in the same kind of description I was looking for it is a wonderful bow for beginners, and it kind of uses the a pulley system to kind of evenly distribute the draw back weight. I am not an expert and I probably dumbed that down a lot. The product itself was wonderful, just not what I was looking for or thought I was buying.

Great bow for beginners, this is the only left handed bow we could find to fit a small 6 year old.Our other two kids ages 8 and 11 can also shoot this with no adjustments.

I bought this for my son, he was 4.5 years at Christmas. The draw length is slightly too long for him yet. I started by lowering the draw weight on it down to pretty much the lowest setting and the arrows don't have enough velocity. Once he got used to it, i started to bright the draw weight back up and now he is doing much better, but he wears out sooner. I also got him a junior sized release, but that too is slightly large for him. He can use it and control it, but it increases the distance of how far back he has to pull. I think that within the year he will grow into it and get be much better and enjoy it more. I am very pleased with this. The construction seems top notch as well.

Great bow to teach young kids on! Very small children might have difficulty drawing this bow but most kids can.

This bow was a great purchase for my son! We do a lot of bow fishing so with the zero let off it makes it so nice for that! Super adjustable and all the bow fishing gear bolted right on to it! He can use this bow for a lot of years and should grow into it nicely! Built very well and a great starter bow for the lil guys! I would recommend this bow for any first timers looking to get their kids into archery, and especially bowfishing! I researched a lot of bows before deciding to go this route to get all I wanted for him out of a bow! This one will rig up nice for traditional shooting as well once we wrap up the bowfishing season. he was so excited to get this bow! Now I just need to work on his aim!! LOL!!

Originally purchased in the fall of 2014, this is a perfect size for a petite beginner. My daughter is relatively small for her age so she's not that strong. This bow makes the nice transition to the full Genesis. This year (fall 2015) she's progressed into the full-size Genesis with ease, set at about 14 pounds. I would highly recommend this bow for beginners and small kids. Make sure you find out which eye dominance your child is before purchasing any bow. As a youth 4-H instructor we see so many parents buying dominant-hand bows instead of eye dominance. Support your local 4-H Shooting Sports programs.

Bought this for my 7 year old son. He had a bit of trouble getting the bow to full draw when I had it at the full 20 pounds. I dialed it down a few turns, and he seems to have an easier time now. The quality of the bow itself is top notch. The only weak spot os the flipper arrow rest. It was just pushed into place, and not held on with a bolt or any type of fastener. It kept falling off and eventually, we ended up dropping it in the grass and losing it. I looked into buying a replacement and they were ridiculously priced. Somewhere in the $25 range. Didn't seem worth it, since it would probably end up falling off again. So I replaced with a whisker biscuit that I could bolt on.The size of the bow seems perfect for smaller kids, and I'm glad I went with the Genesis Mini vs the full sized Genesis. While the draw weight isn't much different, the small size and lighter weight of the mini seem to make it easier to handle. My son and his friends all seem to be able to handle the mini much easier than a full sized bow. Kids as young as 6, and as old as 10 have used it, and it worked well for all of them.

Awesome bow for my 6 yr old and 8 year old. You can dial down the #s until they can pull it back and arrows are just fast enough to stick in the target. Suber high quality. You get what you pay for.

I teach the NASP program at my school and I found that the younger students (grades 4-6) couldn't shoot properly because the standard bows were too heavy to hold up. This bow only weighs two pounds and has a draw weight that can be lowered down to 6 pounds. It's been a great addition to our class. The students are fighting over who gets to use it! I will be ordering more of them in the future.
