On the advertisement, it showed a picture of my exact Generator with the silencer on it, but when I received it, it did not fit without some grinding and tweaking to it

The items where very well packed and arrived on time. Installation is straight forward and easy. Best part of this in now I can have the generator run in a locked up garage at night without worrying about noxious gases. Also do not worry about someone taking it during the night. I did a test run for 3 hours in my garage with a 2 different types of carbo monoxide detectors and neither one of them went off.

I have an old generac generator and had a hard time finding a muffler that would fit. This muffler offers a wide bolt hole pattern that allowed the bolts to fit into the engine. It is also quiet for this type of generator.

I saw this offered and thought I could use the exhaust for our generator we primarily use as a home emergency power source. It has the same bolt on muffler flange attachment that our generator has. Our generator is a Firman Tri-Fuel (Gas 7500/LPG 6750/NG 5500 Watts) which is currently stationed within a sound/weather enclosure box outside the house. The generator has an similar exhaust system that runs through the enclosure box with a slip type attachment to the bolt on muffler flange. This slip on feature allows me to easily disconnect the exhaust pipe from the muffler flange so that I can roll the generator out of the enclosure whenever it needs service. However, my pass through exhaust/muffler set up hard mounted and would be a pain to remove from the box should we use the generator for additional RV purposes. With this in mind, I thought that having this exhaust system as an additional option might come in handy should we need our generator when RV camping. This additional muffler system could be carried with the generator and attached (and relatively easily removed) without disrupting my current hard mounted enclosure box. This generator exhaust system COULD work on my enclosure box but would make oil changes/servicing much more difficult since both the muffler and flange ends are permenantly attached to the flexible exhaust hose. This exhaust system does not have the same slip type fitting that I use and would require bolting and unbolting each time I want to service the generator inside the enclosure box. And my small enclosure box makes it very hard reach the muffler flange bolts on the backside of the generator while its inside the box.In my case I am looking to use this exhaust system as a portable system since I am already set up at my home with one. Regardless, this system is designed more as a permenant fixture. With this in mind, the kit even comes with fire resistant exhaust hose cover tubing, gloves, and mounting straps/screws as well as instructions. It even comes with a gasket that goes between the bolt on generator muffler flange and exhaust hose muffler flange. The construction/welds of the exhaust system are solid and well built. The price point is very reasonable. Overall, I am happy with the device and price point given what you receive.

Does not work with my Firman Generator. The silencer was blocking the exhaust flow through and the generator was stalling. I had to cut the Silencer just to extend the exhaust pipe

The first thing I noticed when pulling this out of the box was how bad the muffler looked. The paint was terrible and there is corrosion of some sort on the outlet tip. The bolt slots allow it to work on a range of different machines but I needed the bolts almost as close as possible and the included washers are too wide for that. I had to find my own washers and also new bolts that were longer than what came on my machine. I got it installed without too much trouble after that. Once the muffler started heating up there was tons of white smoke coming out for about 10 minutes. I’m guessing there was some sort of oil inside as my generator never smokes. I did not notice my generator being any quieter but I also didn’t notice it having any problems. Seemed to run just as well with this connected so that’s definitely good. I didn’t notice any leaks where it attaches to my generator. It seems like a fair option for running through a wall or just getting the exhaust a bit further from the generator but I expected higher quality for the price.
