The mount/handle seem solid, the mirror is very reflective. Problem is the edges are razor sharp. Is this an inspection mirror or a deadly ninja weapon? I wasn't sure. I took a file and cleaned up the edges which should have been done wherever it was made. You could easily cut yourself just taking it out of the package. It needs some sort of edge/border.

I had one of these types of tools from another manufacturer with a glass mirror. I dropped it, and the glass mirror shattered. This time I decided to buy one that had a metal mirror, so I wouldn’t have that problem again. Great tool.

I inspect amusement rides. I went through four mirrors in a month (work replaces them) before getting this and I haven’t broken it yet. (It’s only been dropped from 40 feet!) It’s been scratched up but I was able to polish it back up with some super fine polishing compound and a buffing wheel attached to a standard cordless drill. I drilled a small hole in the end of the largest telescoping tube and keep it zip-tied to my wrist while I’m climbing coaster track. Always been impressed by the simplicity, price, and value of General Tools and this mirror is no exception.

The description for this mirror says it's metal, but doesn't specify that it's a flame inspection mirror and the reflector is metal as well. I assumed the frame and handle was metal but the reflector was glass. It's a decent product for the price, although mine came with some scratches and dings on the polished surface. I'm amazed at how reflective the surface is, but if you're a little shaky, good luck keeping it scratch free.

I needed a mirror that I could take pictures through at an angle under high magnification. This one has a few imperfections, which I'll have to avoid when setting up the microscope, but it's better than having a piece of glass in the mirror that gives multiple reflections and screws up the focus with the camera. I'll probably cut this one to pieces to get mirrors that can be used in smaller places, but haven't needed to do it yet.

Love the fact that I can't break it. It has a large viewing surface and a handle made for man hands.
