I ordered a similar part but less expensive but after reading the off-brand fan clutch reviews I returned and purchased the Genuine GM Fan Clutch. It's better to spend more to get the OEM than to get a substitute and pay out more in labor charges doing the repair again. I'm a DIY'er but my time is important. The name printed on the fan clutch says BEHR but it is a genuine GM. I checked with a Chevy dealer in my area and the ones they have in their inventory say BEHR as well. The fan clutch has been installed for a couple weeks and it is running super quiet. I'm extremely happy I installed a genuine GM part in my 2003 GMC Envoy.

Bought an aftermarket one for my trailblazer that my mechanic installed at a cost of 350 bucks. It lasted all of 4 days and less than 100 miles before we noticed weird vibration from engine area. Once hood opened with engine running I saw the fan was wobbling from 1/2 to 3/4 inches. Fan and water pump were new AC Delco parts with aftermarket shroud. Took it back to mechanic, he said clutch fan was junk and I should have gone with AC Delco the 1st time. After another 150 bucks and AC Delco clutch fan all good. Gave it a 3 for mileage due to it having just been installed, but no wobble and no vibration. Don't go cheap on this part!

Originally I posted a negative review, because the two companies that manufacture these components, Behr Dayton Thermal & Pontiac Coil, were not GM original equipment manufacturers for my vehicle. That being said, both companies have been around for 70+ years, and this seems to be a quality product. 1 year and 15K+ miles later, it’s running great!

Perfect fit, good, clean threads, great quality.p.s..... had to drive car approx 200 miles before "check engine" light would reset and remain off, so don't worry if you install it and reset the light should it come back on - just drive it a while, and the computer should eventually reset itself. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge in case your problem was not the fan! Also a good idea to replace the water pump while replacing this fan - you're half way there, and you'll be sorry if you have to pull it all over again to replace the pump in a short while if you don't do it now! Murphy made the law and you know what happens if you don't! LOL!

So my fiancées 04 Envoy 6 cyl. starting having fan issues at 120k miles...apparently all of them do at some point and time. Unlike most traditional fan clutches the Envoy's clutch is computer controlled AND still driven mechanically by a pulley bolted to the water pump. Being an automotive tech by trade, I usually like to do away with big MPG denting mechanical fans and install a nice electric fan in its place but since these are monitored by the ever watchful eye of the vehicles computer I decided to replace it with a factory style part. There's a number of choices to make here and whether you're doing it yourself or employing a professional you must first decide what other parts to go ahead and replace along with the fan clutch at this time. Your biggie here is the water pump. Often when these factory fan clutches fail they will lock up and make the vehicle sound like an F16 fighter jet throttling up. This puts tremendous bearing stress on your water pump shaft and the sure sign of it is drastically decreased fuel mileage along with the whirring noises. In my case the fan lockup was ongoing for a week or so and wiped out my water pump. I advocate that one should ALWAYS replace it during this repair for a number of reasons.. It's accessed easily when the fan is off; it can be damaged easily during the fan clutch removal; and a bad water pump bearing may even damage the new fan clutch. Second decision, which fan clutch to buy- there's the cheaper reproduction clutch or the AC clutch which is the factory installed unit. I went with the cheaper clutch unit and regretted it. It started ticking from the first startup and only grew in intensity every day. Within days it was whirring and sounded like a squirrel in a clothes dryer. Frustrated by my poor decision to skimp on the o.e. part, I went ahead and ordered this unit. It arrived as promised and advertised, so after swapping them out all of the aforementioned noises were silenced and the fuel mileage is back to where it should be. No whirring, no ticking, no check engine lights. To summarize, pair this part with a new water pump, thermostat, belt and upper and lower radiator hoses and fresh coolant and you'll really do your vehicle a solid. You shouldn't incur too many extra labor charges either revamping your cooling system with this repair and a good shop will most always recommend it. Since all of these items work together in harmony and are only accessed with the fan clutch removed, it makes the extra items a no brainer if you are racking up the miles. Also, don't skimp on this part, you may end up paying for labor twice if you end up with a defective knockoff clutch.

Well, I ordered this part thinking I was going to get what I ordered but I was mistaken. This is not an AC Delco part. It is a Behr part with a different OEM part number. As many others, Im trying to fix my fan clutch issue in my 03 Envoy that causes delayed shifts, weak to no AC, and bad MPG as well as the ticking sound when idling. Ordered this part twice and received a Behr part both times. The worst part about it is, the second order I recieved was in a box with an AC Delco Sticker with the correct part number. What was inside the box was not AC Delco. Its the older Behr fan clutch with OEM part number 25790867 instead of 25790869. If you are a customer who wants to receive what they order then avoid this purchase unless some changes are made. If not, you may get a part that may work, but not what you paid for. Also, Amazon is supposed to contact me with a answer as to why I keep getting the wrong part. I will see if I get a answer. I will repost if they fix the issue.
