About this item

  • FEATHERLIGHT DESIGN: The Ovation Medical Walking Boot prioritizes user comfort and mobility. It weighs half a pound less than its closest competitor and has the lowest profile on the market, eliminating the need for shoe levelers or additional inserts.
  • MAINTAIN YOUR NATURAL GAIT: Unlike foot braces and walkers with rigid soles that force an unnatural gait, the Gen 2’s intuitive sole is contoured in multiple directions and lets patients move naturally, providing wearers a more comfortable experience with greater ease of movement.
  • INNOVATIVE PNEUMATIC PUMP: Traditional orthopedic boots and air casts have easily breakable, outdated twist valve designs or pumps attached to the top strap that can lead them to inflate on their own, causing discomfort. The Gen 2's integrated single push-button release system is simple, durable, and dependable.
  • SECURE AND CUSTOM FIT: Boasting an innovative shock absorption system, a sure-grip, non-slip resting surface, and flared struts that accommodate all calf circumferences, The Gen 2 premium walking boot offers increased safety, stability and personalized adjustment that ensures the perfect fit for your unique needs.
  • A STANDING OVATION: Ovation Medical is a family-run, US-based business, passionate about providing exceptional quality, service, and selection to its customers. Ovation guarantees all products last the life of the original consumer and be free from defects.

Update: when I first got this walking boot it was extremely uncomfortable and really hurt my shins. I reread the manual and adjusted the insert to make sure that it was definitely at 90 degrees from the ground. This made a huge difference. Originally I had the angle between my shin and foot less than 90 and that was causing pressure from the straps.I also adjusted the Velcro so that the hard loop is right at the edge of the vertical plastic frame so that it doesn't press into my shin. Hopefully that makes sense.----Yes, these are lighter, and lower profile. The pump works well and I'm able to stabilize my ankle to allow my torn tendon to heal until the boot starts causing pain from the straps. There are two issues for me. First I had to add an insert to my shoes to get level. Not a huge deal though. My main issues is with comfort. I have sharp shin bones and the Velcro straps put pinpoint pressure on my shins and it really hurts after a couple hours. The only fix is to loosen the straps but that reduces the stability. I have tried inserting pads and that only helps for a little while.I am also unable to tighten down on my foot for the same reason. All the tightening pressure comes down on to our the for. When it hurts I have to loosen it. This let's my foot move some which is not good.I'm 5'7" and 160lbs. I sized the boot correctly and the fit is good. If your shin bone sticks out (not sure at the front) then I would not recommend this boot.

I had a Cam boot from my doctor, unfortunately my doggie enjoyed chewing the buckle. I ordered this lower profile and it was amazing . I did not need to use the step up to even out my hips!! This item was suggested by my doctor

I’ve been struggling with a collapsed arch issue for6 months now. I’ve been to my podiatrist several times and despite anti-inflammatories, icing and wearing an ankle brace, I keep re-traumatizing the tendons in my ankle and foot. I ordered the “#1 seller” boot and was miserable because it was so uncomfortable. I got my Gen2 tall boot today and it’s incredibly comfortable to wear right off the bat!It fits well, is extremely stable and I feel safe walking in it. Easy to get on and off. I am confident I will be fine with wearing it day over the next three weeks! My advice is don’t waste any time with less expensive brands. Go for this one and you won’t regret it!

I had ankle surgery Dec.30 2024. The “boot” that I had been wearing, for 6 months that my insurance had paid for was falling apart. My surgeon recommended that I buy one from Amazon because the insurance company would charge me $300 if he provided me one. I chose this product because it was lighter weight than other “boots” and it offered more “cushion” for my foot/ankle. This product doesn’t make me feel like I’m hauling 20 pounds of dead weight when I move around. The straps are very durable and the sole of the boot is made of good rubber that won’t make your foot slip on a wet/snowy/icy surface. It’s very easy to put on and the instructions that were provided were easy to follow. I recommend this product!

My doc wrote a prescription for a walking boot from Hanger. It was a piece of junk. I have worn walking boots several times due to an issue with foot tendons tearing. I wore the Hanger boot for 30 minutes and almost fell twice.I went onto Amazon and saw this boot. It is perfect! My only negative comment is that the first velcro strap hook near the toes, is VERY difficult to get the velcro strap into. It has very little give to it.My podiatrist thinks this boot is great and took a photo so he can suggest it to his patients. At $60 on Amazon vs hundreds of dollars at Hanger, it wins!

Broken my hip fractured my ankle... I got the grey 1 from the hospital.. it's good.. this 1 is not lighter.. maybe a little heavier.. but low profile.. I sit in the bathroom better.. I can swing on the crutches easier. .you can remove some velcro if there are to many.. and it take a minute to find comfortable... I did not read directions if there were any but.. wrap the black pad around your leg.. sit with your leg at a good comfortable angle then stick the hard boot sides.. 2 or 3 times and this thing is wonderful.. I had to slightly rotate the black padded area around my ankle so the air bag inside it did not press on the broken part of my ankle but then it stays in place when you stick the hard uprights... highly recommend over the grey boot from the hospital!!

Fits perfectly like my previous boot. Is lighter weight. Very comfortable based on what it’s used for…Will circle back after wearing it awhile.
