+ Material feels cool to the skin.+ Provides some comfort compared to having nothing at all.+ The size is not too big, it fits perfectly on my sedan car seat.CONS:- The cushion is not the best I have tried, I have another one that you feel like you almost bounce on it when you sit down.Neutral:* When using it on a flat chair, you lean forward slightly, because it has more height from the back. I consider this neutral, since if you use it in your car seat (which is not flat), this is something positive and necessary to give you better comfort.I have another one that so far has the best cushion I've tried, the brand is medisana, you can find it here on amazon too, but it's more expensive than this one ($50 at the moment).

I'm probably one of the harder to please people when it comes to cushions and supports for the spine, since I have a severely damaged spine that has required countless surgeries and procedures since a serious accident 10+ years ago. Despite all of the surgeries, inc 4 fusions (with another anticipated), I'm still in debilitating pain all the time, and pretty much live in a recliner. Without a cushion with a tailbone cutout to keep my lumbar & SIs from compressing, the pain is even worse. That's the highly abridged explanation re why I'm a probably a lot tougher on cushions like this than your average user! I've tried a number of them over the last month or two, as my old standby is nearing it's expiration date, and I'm planning a long distance move that will have me in the car for 3-5 days, depending on how good the supports in my car are... some of the cushions I've tried so far have been good, some bad. So far this is landing in the good column.I like several things about this cushion. It's made of high density foam, so while it isn't like sinking into a cloud, it is very supportive, and I've had no issues with it sinking at all, even with nearly 24/7 use.It works well in a recliner as well as the car, though it does significantly increase your height in the seat, which may be a problem (and is how I discovered my power seat controls aren't working *sigh*). Luckily I can still reach the pedals, likely because the front of the cushion is sloped down so much, but head clearance is an issue for the first time in my life since I had the seat in the highest position. I'm only 5'2, so it probably just feels that I'm out of headroom, but it's definitely something for taller people to consider if they're looking for a cushion for their vehicle. And, despite having to adjust all of my mirrors, etc, I actually kind of liked the ability to see more of the road, even if it did shift some of my blind spots. There are little silicone nubs on the base of the cushion as well as seat lock things that slip between the backrest and seat of the car to hold it in place. Honestly, the nubs are pretty effective by themselves, but the little stopper things are a nice added bit of reassurance.Everything about the cushion appears to be well done at this point. The stitching of the cover is solid and the foam is very firm but gives just enough as you sit on it.The only con for me at this point are the raised sections at the back that they call the "hip contour area" . This is the first cushion I've used with this design and I don't find it to be terribly helpful. Instead I've found they can actually be a little uncomfortable if I sit too far back on the cushion. This might just be a me & my messy spine thing though.Overall I'd give this cushion a 4.5 out of 5 & rounding up to a 5. There are other cushions I prefer, but unless you're a picky as I am bc of severe spine issues, this is a really great option for more comfortable seating, and it's very competitively priced ($25 at the time of review).

The item came from the factory sealed in a vacuum pack and was thus relatively small. One could immediately tell that this product had some heft. When we opened it up, it immediately unfolded into the final shape without any notable smell that sometimes comes with such packaging. We immediately noticed this was a well-made, substantial, comfortable product. In the car, it provides a notable lift of at least a few inches to the car seat, and my wife, who is the primary user, feels that it is pretty comfortable but finds the slot in the back for the coccyx to be unnecessary. The reason for four (instead of five) stars is that back opening. My wife is both small and light (100 lbs) and thus wants some extra cushioning she can't provide herself, and this seat has that cushion for sure. In a recent seven-hour trip, that cushion was welcome. However, the open-split (for the coccyx) in the back morphed over the seven hours from unnecessary to "slightly uncomfortable".By contrast, I'm about 175lbs, and I don't find the open-split back to be an issue (although I've only used it around town)... but, then again, I don't feel any need for additional cushioning. So, for me, I am fine with it but don't need it. And, my wife needs it but is not totally fine with it.The safety cushion provides what one might expect from a memory foam-type cushion. In other words, you sit down into it, and you feel it compressed beneath you. That said, it doesn't ever become hard or have any hard spots. It's winter now, so we don't know how this would be in terms of heat retention during the summer months. But from a purely comfort perspective, this is a robust and professionally supportive product.Well, it provides substantial heft and allows my wife to feel as if she has a greater visual command of the road around her; she also had to adjust the seat down a little bit to accommodate. (That works just fine for me because now she and I don't move the seats up and down depending on who is driving but rather just add or subtract this cushion.) If I were to use the cushion, I would have to adjust the seat way down to accommodate. I do use it because I'm reviewing it, but I never felt the need for the seat in the first place, so I don't anticipate using it in the future.Regardless of personal preference, what I can say is that if you want a car seat and either don't mind the open-split in the back OR value the open-split in the back, this is an excellent product. So we are largely enthusiastic about this product but not head over heels.I hope this helps.
