  • EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEF: The ice packs contains 1 boot wrap and 2 internal ice packs designed to relieve soft tissue related pain in tired horses. Quickly and effectively reduces pain from sprains and bruises, relaxes tight muscles, improves blood flow and speeds healing. For use on the front or hind legs.
  • EVEN COOLING: The shell of the ice boots for horses is strictly designed according to the anatomy of the horse's leg, not only covering a large area, but also able to fit tightly into the concavity of the horse's leg to achieve even cooling.
  • ONE SIZE FITS ALL: The large ice pack measures 16.7‘ x 15’, which is large enough to cover the horse's entire leg, and is secured to the leg by 4 short straps. 2 short straps that go on very quick to hold the boot in place and you can go back once the horse stops stomping its foot because of the cold and fasten it properly. 2 longer stretchy straps that wrap around the leg to apply it more firmly, keep it fully compressed without slipping.
  • EASY TO USE: Place in freezer (in bag provided) until frozen, remove and secure to leg. Once frozen, the freezer bag will remain flexible and soft to fit around the leg/joint. Some horses may require a small layer of fabric between the ice pack and the skin.
  • LASTING AND DURABLE: The ice wraps for horses outer material is a thick synthetic blend that will stand up to rough treatment without breaking, leaking, or being damaged.

I really like this ice boot (note: you only get one boot, not a pair) because of the way the straps are designed. You have two short straps that go on very quick to hold the boot in place and then two longer stretchy straps that wrap around the leg to apply it more firmly. I didn’t appreciate how convenient this part of the design was until I had to put the boot on one of my more ‘antsy’ horses. The quick straps keep it in place so that you can go back once the horse stops stomping its foot because of the cold and fasten it properly. The ice inserts are fairly easy to put in the boot if you freeze them separately. I just put the whole boot in the freezer so don’t really need that feature, but it is good if you want to launder the boot.It is also tall enough to use on front or hind.

We recently hauled several thousand miles to a show in Las Vegas and back. I bought this gel pack in case we needed it. Fortunately, the haul went without issue and we did't need to use it.That said, if we had needed it we had it. It is well made and adjustable to fit most horse's legs. It has two gel packs and a neoprene boot. You can use one or both gel packs. The separate neoprene boot allows a better fit and more localized use. It is large enough to fit both front and hind legs. The neoprene boot can be washed separately, which is a bonus.A must-have if you have horses.

Trying this out on a horse in rehab with a check ligament injury and I am happy with the fit and how well the cold stays in contact with the ligament. I have nearly every kind of ice boot imaginable, and this is one of the better designs. Not bulky, forms to the leg, and freezes just fine if you throw the whole thing in the freezer.

Yet everything in the description and photos elude to a pair of boots with two gel inserts.Haven’t tried them on the horse yet…may return as I feel this was misleading.
