In my job I have access to some low level radioactive materials. As it turns out, this detector works reasonably well at monitoring radiation levels. It also definitely detects X-rays. I have to say that for the size I was a little bit shocked on how well it worked.The device itself has a small LCD screen that allows it to display a number of different bits of information. Compared to a much more expensive Geiger counter, this device works reasonably well. It would define as a personal dosimeter and is very easy to carry around.Depending on what you want to use it for, the small size might actually be a disadvantage. If you wanted to stick a probe near something that you thought was radioactive but didn't want to get your hand too near it this would not be the way to go. On the other hand, if you were walking into an area that you thought was radioactive and wanted to make sure that you had early warning, this device is excellent. It's small enough to easily fit in your hand and depending on the size of the shirt pocket, might even fit there. There is no built-in lanyard hook, but it would be fairly easy to glue one on the back if you wanted to wear it that way too. It's not very heavy.I have no complaints.

Arrived broken i was able to hear a loose part inside so i opened it up and the gas tube was off the connectors i also noticed some broken glass inside the tube although the tube itself appeared intact. Tube is also only barely long enough to reach either side I doubt it is the correct one.
