Different item than what's pictured. Actual item cannot be converted to 3 jaw as the picture shows. The pictured puller is larger than the actual item based on the difference between the jaws and connector arms. The dimensions listed are correct except the jaw capacity is 4" when parallel with the screw. It does function and is higher quality than Harbor Freight but it is not as described.

I was installing a new turn signal knob in my car and had to take the steering wheel off. I could not get it off by any other means. But with the help of this gear puller, I was finally able to pop it off. Not sure what else I will use it for, but it has already paid for itself.

Now this puller was way smaller than I expected. I never paid any attention to the size of the puller I used throughout the years so I was a bit lost when I had to order one. The 1 ton is not good for torsion bars! It got the job done but suffered a catastrophic failure (stripped threads) while reinstalling the torsion keys! Luckily mine held long enough to complete the job! I would 100% buy this again for the price but I’d make sure I got the right size!

I did get the 3551D 2 Ton 2 Jaw Reversible Puller, but it is just a plain 4" (estimated) setup, not the adjustable item pictured. I believe the picture must be of a different model#. If you look closely zoomed in, it does not look like it reads 3551D. Anyway, I'm keeping this since it's good enough, but I shucked out more $ than I had to thinking it came with the additional brackets to adjust the claws to non-180-degree positions.

Very well made and out of good steel. Little to no side to side play on the jaws.
