Metal slightly spread out on sides at size stamping. Not quite the quality of years ago but still pretty good product.

I own a few sets of Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches and some random stuff but I’m pretty deep into the tool truck brands. I bought this ratcheting wrench two years ago to ratchet out caliper bolts on the rear of a ford E-450s after I broke them free with a long 1/2 ratchet. The leaf springs give you zero clearance so you can’t do it with a ratchet and specs are 450 ft/lbs on my specific custom cutaway models in my fleet. Here’s where it gets interesting. I lent my XL ratchet to a fellow mechanic doing another job so I was left with just the wrench. I decided to give it a go with the ratcheting side and a pry bar to break the bolts free. Figured it would break it but the snap on truck was coming and I was going to just buy a 13/16 ratcheting snap on as an “upgraded” version. Well, it didn’t break. It didn’t slip and held on to the bolt. Still I paid for the snap on anyway and next job I tried the snap on the same way and it broke on the first try. $85 dollars over the $25 I spent. Both lifetime warranty yes. Nothing compared to a true snap on wrench but that gear system is far stronger. May not be smoother than snap one but waaaaay stronger. Worth it. Almost 3 years still use the pry bar method still works no slipping.
