I purchased this from Home Depot (not from Amazon). I've only had it about 2 weeks. Tonight, I washed my dog's stuffed animals (about 25 small stuffed dogs) in this washer. When I went to take them out of the washer and put them in the dryer, there was still some water in the washer and worst of all there was a strong smell of something burning! It kind of smelled like rubber burning, but I'm not sure. I can't sleep now because I'm afraid the washer is going to catch on fire in the middle of the night. I cannot believe that this has happened. This is the first time I have bought a top loading unit for the small utility room in my condo. I won't be getting this kind again.

It saves space. It's small but I was ok doing more loads more often. I think the really WORST thing is there's no way to fill to let clothes soak. If you fill it and stop the cycle to soak, within minutes it all empties out, soap and all. Same problem if you want to go get something else to throw and you leave the lid up while getting said item, you will find it drained if it's up for more than a few minutes, THIS would have been a deal breaker had I realized before I bought it. Also it barely fills up enough to get stuff wet unless you use the "bulky" setting. So stupid in every practical way. IMO, it's clearly designed by men who've never done laundry.

Washer has no central agitator, so large items like sheets, duvet covers and towels get wadded up on one side of the machine. And large items tend to tent over the center of the drum and stay dry. Coiling them into long loose snakes prevents tenting, but nothing stops the unbalancing. I have to ride herd on every load, which is a pain

When this unit worked it washed and dried very well. However we have given up after second unit was just like first. Sometimes runs a full cycle but more often washes and shuts off. Or, won't start at all. Stops full of water and drain/spin won't work. Sometimes unplugging and restarting works. This is a piece of junk. Don't buy. Fortunately after first unit was replaced I got a protection plan and just submitted form for total reimbursement. No more GE for me.

The washing machine is very finicky. What good is the decent capacity when it’s constantly unbalanced, requiring stopping and restarting multiple times? I don’t care how carefully bulky items are placed in the machine, it’s never good enough, and the banging noises and vibration sound as if the doors of Hell have opened. The plate at the bottom of the machine swallows up items, requiring the jaws of life and incantations to get them pried loose. The dryer is great - quick and efficient - as long as you are willing to replace the buttons it tears off shirts. Another reviewer stated that the machine has a short life expectancy; I hope that’s true.

I've owned 2 of these and both have broken after less than 1 year of use.
