Filters seem good. Easy to install. Checked them with some test strips and they appear to be doing what they say they will. They say to replace about every 6 months I find that to be about right with our usage. Wish they were not plastic but not sure what else they could reasonably be made of. Overall good filters

I use these filters on my ice maker and a separate kitchen sink mounted faucet. For well water they really filter down to half micron which takes out even the most stubborn bacteria and chemicals. Crystal clear , great tasting water. What else could you ask for. I mounted both in the basement and ran copper tubing to the ice maker and faucet. You could use plastic but that's what I'm trying to stay away from. The flow rate is as good and probably a little better than the old bulky faucet mounted filter but the cleanliness is far superior.

I live in a subdivision which has its own water system (now owned by the city). Whenever they shock the system, chlorine smell and taste is evident. I first bought one of these units, with the mounting and connections, about 18 years ago and the filter does eliminate the chlorine smell and taste, so I figure it must also eliminate the other contaminates listed. The GE filter is rather expensive, but it is worth it. If your water is from a well, I would definitely recommend GE. There are compatible filters which are less costly and I've used one; but I've come back to using the OEM. Since I mainly use the filtered water when brewing coffee (either in the drip maker or single-use brewer) or using water in a recipe; I use only about 50 oz. a day -- so the filter lasts at least six months.

Works as expected. Instructions are clear and it’s easy to remove the old filter and install the new ones. Sometimes you need to give a bit of extra elbow grease to get the old one off but it’ll come right off eventually - give yourself some time and a little extra oomph. Water tastes good post filtration. Once you’re closer to the six month lifespan of it, you’ll notice a difference in water taste. To combat this I’ve set up the subscribe and save for every six months and it helps keep clean water in my family’s mouths year-round.

We bought these filters after trying a generic which only leaked water profusely. The generics came with no instructions and appeared to be EXACTLY the same in all aspects, yet we couldn't use them because of the stream of water coming from the seal area.GE filters work like a charm. I just have two concerns:1. For the price, they should come WITH the "food grade silicone grease" which the instruction sheet says is needed around the o-ring before installing. This is a hard to find product and could literally come with the filters in a small, squeezable packet like ketchup. This would really be a nice touch by GE if they could just include it. My 1 hour spent researching this substance, wandering around Home Depot and coming out empty-handed resulted in my calling my Dad, who said to just use Crisco!2. There are absolutely no instructions on the sheet enclosed or on the packaging as to how to RECYCLE these filters. If they're supposed to be replaced every 6 months, shouldn't there be a way to recycle them. We have so much plastic waste, and it'd be nice to know where we could drop these off since there are no labels or indicators as to the type of plastic(s) used in their manufacture. Disappointing and not very modern to have no solution for proper disposal. All that said, I'm giving these 4 stars out of 5 as the water tastes great and is filtering out plenty of impurities for our drinking and cooking use in the kitchen. I'll buy them again in 6 months.

These filters seem great at filtering, which is most important, but the flow rate through the pair at 65 psi (our home pressure) is pretty low. Takes 20 to 30 seconds to get a glass of water. Doesn’t sound bad until you do a couple hundred.

We purchased a house that had a "GE® Dual Stage Water Filtration System" which uses FQSVF filters. Like everyone else, we realized the older filter had been replaced with the newer FQK2J filter. We purchased the new filters and bought some 'food grade' silicone lube to go with it (the installation directions require it, and it protects the gaskets from eroding over time). The lube was bought on Amazon for cheap, and we will be using it for the next decade probably because it doesn't take much. Before installing the filters I rubbed the silicon over every black gasket (o-ring) that I could find, then twisted the 2 filters on, lining up the arrows with the front panel and not over twisting. I then turned the water back on and watched as many air pockets were blown out of the line. After ~8 minutes of running water through the lines, I tested the water. It tasted great and the water flow was fast.I had zero issues with this new filter. I see many reviews where people are experiencing leaks, things not fitting, etc. These filters are definitely larger than the previous ones, but we had plenty of clearance and the threads are the same size, so there was no problem twisting them in. I purchased the filters directly from Amazon as the seller, who I'm assuming, purchased them in large quantity from GE through their vendor central program. Generally, it looks like the GE Dual Stage system is being replaced with the Dual Flow system, if you want to continue using the older system and you're experiencing leaks, I would consider replacing all the gaskets/o-rings and using silicon lube to protect them in the future.

Well it's good and easy to install. The value for money seem okay considering that I bought the faucet from Amazon not sure where else I can I buy these filters. It's a good buy because I needed them.
