Cable can also be used to connect a VCR or camcorder to a second VCR for copying of video tapes. This is an Ultra low-loss coaxial cable, fused to two shielded audio cables, with three RCA type plugs on each end..

In a sea of fishy Composite Cables sold by Chinese sellers with dirt cheap prices and keyboard smash names, it's worth paying a bit extra for a brand like General Electric in which you know it'll give you good quality. Works great for my purposes and output quality is as good as Composite video can give you (about 480p)

Fair Price - Good Quality - these are not those extra thin wire cheap cables selling every where these days. They are pretty thick & should stand up well & last a long time.

The cord wasn’t long enough, I should have checked the length before ordering. It has its purpose though..

Using this with a mac.1. Plug into mac on one end, VCR on other2. Run Quicktime3. Select File/New movie recording4. Here's the tricky part: you see then little "v", next to the record button? That's where you select this device for input. Do this for both Audio & Video5. Quick time has its own volume control. It defaults to off. Turn it up, if you want to hear audio.6. Press play onVCR7. Hit record button.8. It does not auto stop. So pay attention.Quality seems to match what I see on the TV when I play the VCR. VHS has crappy resolution, don't judge the device for bad tapes.I did get slightly different results on a second recording. Running the tape out to the end and rewinding might make a difference.Works well. Easy to set up. Requires no extra software (Quicktime is preinstalled on all macs). One downside is it produces uncompressed video. HUGE (20 GB an hour). You'll need that much free space. You can save as MP4, I believe, but it records first in the original size.UPDATE: on the same “v” next to the record button, you can also select quality. Select the lower one, which is still higher resolution than VHS, then sizes are more like 1GB/hour. Way better and shouldn’t lose you any picture quality!
