It works as intended, does what it was supposed to . I took away one start because the packaging had been opened and taped back together. The sticker on the back says "refurb". That said, it still gets the other 4 because it was cheap and does it's job! :) Had it been listed as a refurbished product I would have given it all 5 stars.

I purchased this RF Modulator because it was inexpensive, available, and fit my need.After about seven months of use, the unit wasn't turning on when the DVD/VCR unit turned on. I switched outlets to make sure that wasn't the problem. My kids found that slightly jiggling where the power cord enters the unit would turn it on. As long as no one touched the cord, it was okay for a couple of weeks. Eventually, the "slight jiggling" wouldn't work and we had to use different "propping" options to keep the plug at the back of the unit at a certain angle. That only worked a couple of times and now no angle works.The power cord is not directly wired into the back of the RF modulator like some other units. The power cord simply plugs into the back -- like the charging cord for your old dinky cell phone. Well, this one went bad.I've replaced this one with a unit that has a built-in (directly wired) power cord. Buyer beware.

Product came in an opened container with packing tape around it in a box. I was going to return it as it should have been new but I hooked it up and everything worked fine. I just threw the packaging away anyways. Took off 2 stars for getting something used that was stated new. If I'm getting garage sale junk I better get garage sale pricing...
