The description did not list the dimensions of the snare drum it can hold, so here's the info. The front pocket is 4.5" deep, but could hold up to 5" of depth. It will not fit our 6.25"-thick snare. It looks incredibly well-made and the wheels and telescoping handle work great, but we will have to return it because it did not state this information at the time of our purchase.

My son plays the snare drum in his school band and this rolling bag has been a lifesaver. It’s lightweight yet sturdy enough to protect his snare drum and accessories during daily commutes to lessons and rehearsals. The wheels are smooth and quiet. The comfortable handle makes it easy to carry, even when navigating crowded hallways or the school bus. I would recommend it.

This case is a great one to have, love Gator products and have used them for years. The fabric is nice and thick while being stitched very well. Always good quality stuff from them. The size is great, nice little sticks compartment makes it a multi use tool. Great value and functionality for the money!

I've always had good experiences with Gatorcase products as they are well made. This padded case easily fits and protects a 13” snare drum along with a dedicated section for sticks and other accessories.The wheels roll smoothly, and the handle adjusts to several heights, making it user-friendly, especially when navigating through busy areas like airports or event venues. Additionally, there's a handy zippered pouch on the back, perfect for storing essentials like keys or sheet music or, if you’re on the road, your passport and important documents.While the price point is a bit higher than some other options, the quality justifies the cost. I got the Gator Cases Protechtor Student Series Snare Drum Kit Rolling Bag for my son as his old snare bag has seen better days. The bag is top-notch quality with thick canvas and all stitching done very well. The wheels give a smooth roll and the base keeps the case sitting straight up with no tipping. The telescoping handle is fantastic; glides up and down well. Main compartment is roomy and padded to protect your equipment and the stick/accessory bag in the front is an added bonus. I'm a guitar player and have had Gator products for years, so I knew this would be a fantastic product.

As you would expect from Gatorcases, this is a very well built product. It will easily and safely hold just about any snare. There is also a separate section to hold sticks or anything else you might choose to take along. The handle extends far enough you can drop another bag or backpack on it for a full carry around. You might even find yourself using it as a carry-on bag for flights.

I am not a student drummer, but I picked this up to use for gigs where I need to bring limited gear (snare and sticks) figuring that it would hold everything and be easy to cart around. For this specific purpose, it will work fine provided I use one of my 13x5.5 snares, which I usually do. The front compartment can hold a bunch of sticks, and you may even get a small stick bag in there. And there's a zippered pouch on the back that could hold a few papers or music book. The retractable handle does extend to a nice length for walking while rolling. The wheels roll smoothly and quietly.On the downside of this, the bag is pretty maxed out in the main compartment with my 13x5.5 snare. I tried to put a 13x6.5 in there and it's tight. I don't think a 14" snare is getting in there. Maybe a 14" piccolo but I didn't try so I can't say for sure. for a student, they need to have a 12-13" drum that is not too deep. A small stand and pair of sticks or two can probably fit in the front compartment. The whole package may be a little heavy but shouldn't be an issue since they are probably rolling it most of the time.I have other Gator bags and this like all of my others are a good quality and should last a long time. It's not excessively padded, but enough to protect your drum from normal things that may cause damage. Overall, it's a good bag with limited uses but, I think that's the point. For the intended use, it's a good choice.
