I mistakenly ordered the large size of this mute bag, but it works so well for my uses that I've opted to keep it rather than go down to the more typical trumpet sizes; in fact, I recommend trumpet players try out this larger size rather than cram too many mutes into a too-small bag. No trumpet mute bag fits my oversized flugelhorn harmon mute, but it slots perfectly in here; and other trumpet mutes stack nicely, leaving ample room for other accessories. You can still use the nifty mute holder integrated into the lid during performance with the smaller mutes, and the extra space for snacks certainly won't go unappreciated by any working musician!

I've used a smaller mute bag for my tenor trombone mutes for years. I had accumulated basically every type of mute while in college, and I actually had some times where I needed to carry them all to jazz gigs. The bag was always stuffed to the brim and hard to zip shut often. I had been wanting a larger bag for years because of that. This bag was designed a little different than I had in mind. I basically wanted a larger bag simply so there was more room. This bag provides that but also gives you an organization system that can make it much easier to use even on stage. You wouldn't want this on stage for a symphonic concert, but it wouldn't be bag for a jazz gig most of the time. And that's really where you may need to have more of your mutes available.The only real downside to me is that the bag is HUGE. If I were carrying this around a college campus more regularly, I may opt for the larger bag without the storage compartments and deal with having to pull mutes out. But, for most, this bag is pretty dang convenient. It is constructed very well and should hold up to lots of use. It is also large enough that it should accommodate most bass trombone players. I would recommend.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the size and great quality of this bag. It provides excellent protection and cushioning for my music accessories. This is the bag that musicians will want for safely traveling with their expensive pieces of equipment. It is pricey, yes, but you’re re getting the quality and protection that you want and expect. Highly recommend!

This Gator Cases extra large (XL) modular mute bag is very well made, large, and super sturdy. Sure it's made for trombone mutes but I got this to hold my photography/videography studio lights and it works better than other bags made specifically for the lights so I can highly recommend these bags for more than 1 purpose.

This is a great case from Gator. It is lightweight yet secure and sturdy. The material is high quality and water resistant, additionally I liked the color. The side pockets each have additional pockets, for all types of storage including music. While the front pocket is very generous. It comes with a carrying strap or can use handles that attach together if needed. Inside you will find a zipped in top, with 6 round holes for your instrument and mutes. Under you will find 6 secure and rigid compartments, that are attached with velcro and can be removed or moved. I really like the little touches like the g on the zippers as well. Overall this is a high quality yet durable case with tons of storage.

This bag is higher quality than we expected. It can easily fit three mutes, and includes enough padding to ensure that they are protected from damage. The bag is fairly lightweight, and is easy to carry. We really have nothing bad to say about this bag, it seems like a great quality item. I felt like it might be slightly overpriced, but at the same time it is pretty comparable to the price of other similar cases/bags. I'll update this review if there are any issues over time.
