Hi, ham radio operator here. I run HF in the pickup and have had static problems since i installed the rig. I have grounded every body panel to each other and the frame. I have installed chokes everywhere on all the different wires, headlights tail lights, fuel pump, battery, computer, heater fan. You cant name something i haven't pit chokes on. All the chokes were bought from amazon by the way. I have replaced the coil wires and plugs, and still had noise. I’m using heave shielded coax, Yaesu 891 radio and a wold river coil with a 96 inch whip. Actually all of the above helped but the noise remaining sounded like spark noise which got louder under acceleration. I had some 2 inch flat braided ground cable which i thought about trying but say these straps on amazon. I bought two and put one under the doors on the frame where the wouldn't be caught by the tires. Lucky for me I had two holes where a 1/2 inch bolt would fit along with the straps on each side of the frame. It was about a 10 minute install. I took the truck for a drive and the noise was gone. My noise blanker is set at 4 and my noise floor is flat with no static noise. If i turn the noise blanker off I can hear it but not nearly as bad as it was. I’m a happy camper now. Thanks!

Use this to eliminate static in truck radio.

Simply works.Got this for my new truck. I was shocking the gate guards every time I handed them my ID. Finally, after one big whaatack so loud you could hear it, I decided to try a ground strap. It worked. No more shocks.Alas, I finally had to take it off today. With it on, I’d get at least five strangers approaching me when parked or, honking and pointing at my truck when driving. “Hey dude, ya got something a hanging off your truck”.So, it’s back to shocking the gate guard. I figure that’s one annoying thing a day vs 5 strangers approaching my truck every day. If the gate guards starts going for their side arm when I taze them, I might put it back on again.

The strap is fine, it is as advertised. I have been trying everything to alleviate severe car sickness in one of my dogs. I don't think the strap will help my dog at this point but I will try it a few more times. I did blindfold him on our last excursion (we drive 3-4 miles to hike a trail) and that did seem to help (car sickness is supposed to be a disruption between what the eyes see and inner ear balance). Still experimenting!

I HATE getting shocked or shocking my kids when getting out of the car. t's bugged me forever and I finally decided that's enough. I ordered a set of these, one for each car. They don't always eliminate the shock entirely, but 98% of it. I don't feel it anymore but occasionally hear it. If you live in a dry climate like I do then one of these might make life just a little less annoying. As you can see, I attached my grounding strap with 12 gage copper wire. It does the trick and I was able to install it in an inconspicuous area that doesn't interfere with me working on the car.

Product is durable. I have had it on my truck for a couple of months driving a lot of gravel roads and highway. I was hoping it would eliminate some of the dust build up (on black truck), but doesn't seem to help much.

Bought this strap for a lightweight power wheelchair my mom uses. We go to the mall several times a week and the chair generates a lot of static build up. It didn’t bother mom as much as me as every time I touched her or the chair I would get shocked. This was a frequent occurrence especially when pushing her in manual mode. I was told by the seller of the chair there really wasn’t a solution for this. Well I found a review about this product installed on their chair and decided to try it. I cut about three inches off the end of the strap and attached it to the chair where there is an existing bolt. I did need to buy a longer bolt and add a washer. No more shocks! I can’t believe it works! I will occasionally get a light shock, perhaps I cut too much off the end so I wouldn’t step on it? However the shock is infrequent and very mild. Highly recommend for the power wheelchairs!

High Gates quality, just put it under a fastener on your auto body and no more static shocks when exiting, works well.

So far so good , hard to find a proper place to install it. Most cars have more plastic underneath the carriage than before.

Static charge can originate from different sources. I bought one of these to dissipate the static charge that normally builds in every automobile as its driven. The static buildup in a vehicle is simply due to the interaction between the metal body of the vehicle and the air molecules its brushing through and against. This strap works very well to dissipate the electrostatic charge in a metal vehicle body, and there's a lot less dust on my car since there's no electrostatic cling to attract it. That's good for me because I live in a farming community where there WAS lots of dust to attract. It was amazing how much dust would collect on the rear of my hatchback during short drives! However, if you wear synthetic clothing, or your car has synthetic material seat covers, you will generate your OWN static buildup charge separate to that of your vehicle just by brushing against the materials. Because we are pretty much insulated from the metal vehicle, we build our own charge through our clothing and don't notice until we touch a metal object and POP! When I wear synthetic clothing, as I exit my car I make sure to touch the metal somewhere. This discharges me to the ground, through the ground strap. There is still a small discharge generated by me, but it is very small and not painful. This can also help protect you from blowing yourself up at the gas station when refueling. Just like the other buyers, be ready to explain to people what's dragging under your car.

Find a bolt on your frame (which is grounded), attach strap, done! I have these on two vehicles, one it almost completely eliminates static shock when exiting, the other vehicle not so much. Nice, heavy duty material but almost too short to use on my Ford Ranger work truck (just order the longer version for trucks). I would recommend these.
