I dont know why this hose is so expensive at the box retailers as this is the exact same product for a third of the cost,It is molded exactly as the old one and Yes I had to cut an inch off to make it fit but I am happy. Will order again when I need another one.

Bought for 1997 Dodge Dakota V6 (only 1 part for all engines 1997 to 2003 Dakota and Duragno). The first time, Amazon sent me the 12” "cut to fit hose (wrong part completely). The second time, Amazon sent me the actual part from the advertisement. However, I do not know how to cut a hose to fit something that is 8” longer. The ends do not even point in the correct directions. Only with another 8 to 12 inches of hose and no less that 5 splices that all could leak, would this ever come close to fitting.

This is the heater hose that goes from one of the heater core spigots near the brake booster, across the firewall, and then forward along the passenger side valve cover, where it meets another heater hose segment. The picture is a bit misleading -- each end of the hose should point in opposite directions. Also, I think the hose ends don't quite point in the correct directions when you get the new hose, and you have to twist it a little bit, but nothing to worry about. I was replacing an OEM hose from the Dodge dealer that I had installed 170,000 miles earlier. The hose end that connects to the heater core can be trimmed an inch or two. I think I also trimmed the other end just a little bit so that the other heater hose segment coming off of top of the intake manifold wouldn't directly touch the back of the alternator. The driver's side heater hose, just go to O'Reilly's and get 32" of Gates green stripe heater hose, it's the best. If they don't have that, Gates white stripe heater hose is good, too. 5/8" inside diameter.
