The Gas Sampling Pump and Probe by FORENSICS is made for sampling gas with a detector or filling a gas sample bag. Use it to sample gas in air, particulates, vapors, and other gas mixes. Quickly convert diffusion instruments to remote gas or point sampling.

Perfect for Gas Detectors

This is the Forensics Detectors Gas Sampling Pump and Probe. Compatible with all of the detectors from Forensics that are diffusion-based (have no pump and rely on the natural movement of air to enter the gas sensor).

Also compatible with most other gas detectors and meters that are diffusive.

Quickly convert diffusion instruments to remote gas or point sampling. Gas input is taken through a stainless probe (8.6-inch length). Gas output is a male 3.2 mm tube barb connector that connects to standard tubing (3/16" diameter). Advanced features include temperature detection, time, date, and backlight, high-resolution LCD. The power and pump resistance is also clearly indicated so the user has insight into the pump load. Ideal for point sampling "toxic gas" environment to avoid harmful inhalation and exposure.

Diffusive versus Pumped Sampling?

  • Diffusive gas detectors, where there is no forced air and natural diffusion facilitate the detection of the target gas molecules.
  • Forced air or pumped air detectors. This is where a micro-pump or pump accessory is integrated within the detector that forces sampled air to the sensor head.

Should I Use a Pump With My Gas Detector?

  • Toxic Situations. One needs to sample a space before entering a confined space while the user remains in a safe location.
  • Limited Access. One has limited access, such as a well or a HVAC register. A pump and probe facilitations point sampling to extract the sample gas.
  • Faster Response. Increases the speed of response as the gas moves faster to the gas sensor.
