The wider beam width — up to 24 degree beam angle — provides a larger coverage area in the water. The 4-pin transducer features high wide band CHIRP traditional sonar (150-240 kHz) and has a power rating of 250 W. Its shape and beam widths have been optimized for ice fishing and feature a silicon-coated cable that remains flexible in harsh winter conditions.

Perfect! My graph is now an even better ice fishing tool than my flasher! Can't recommend upgrading for winter use enough.

Works perfectly, cord stays soft and plyable even being wet and cold, plenty of length to give you from freedom of movement with your fish finder. Seems robust i even dropped the transducer on the ice and was dragging it behind me without noticing it thankfully it still works perfect no issues.

Couldn't find this anywhere but available in Amazon, now our ice fishing this winter will be great using the transducer we ordered. Perfect fit for our fish finder. Thanks!

I was using the transducer that mounts on a boat, and it works good, my fish finder has clear vu but I don't think this transducer has it, couldn't find it last time I went, also my other transducer was accurate with beeping when there were fish, this one doesn't always beep even when I can see fish or the flasher is lighting up from fish. I do like just being able to drop it in and start fishing.

Bought this so we could run it with a Striker 4+ and an ECHOMAP UHD 75.It works great, and I could see my lure better at greater depths with less noise than the standard dual beam IF transducer that came with the Striker 4 plus (which is still quite good).

Fantastic upgrade from the stock transducer on the garmin striker 4. The difference is truly noticeable on hard water. Simple to use as its plug and play with simple instructions on how to tweak the settings on your striker 4 to optimize it for ice. Now I have the best of both worlds when I’m out on a float tube/ kayak or on a frozen lake. I think it’s a tad pricey but we’ll worth the investment.

I took this transducer on a striker 4 plus out in 11 feet of water. We also had an older striker 4/stock transducer in the group with us. I had been using the stock transducer for ice fishing for two years now.First off, the wire is super flexible and hangs perfectly vertical in the water. Also, the transducer is much heavier than the original.I had it set to 24 degree beam angle for the shallow water, 11 feet. We had two holes for fishing and one hole for the transducer between us. Even though it was shallow, we could see both lures below 3-4 feet. No more trying to rotate the transducer to see the lures.Target separation was definitely improved. The stock unit was running in another tent about 40 feet from us, and they were getting globs of color on the bottom from the weeds and the fish showed up as swiggles in the glob. Meanwhile, we could see the weeds clearly defined and could see the fish come off the bottom very clearly. We could also see how many fish were in the group where the stock setup was a single blob.Very happy with purchase. It performed as advertised and was worth the expense.

I purchased this portable fishing kit so I could bring my EchoMap Plus 73sv w/CHIRP from boat to boat (my own, and rentals). As another user stated, it is a little snug to zip up and store. When when the case is in use and unzipped it works very nicely. I did not have to drill anything to make the EchoMap Plus 73sv to work with this kit, and I purchased a slightly larger battery (10AH) battery for a piece of mind on those all day trips. One pain point for me was where the handle connects to the base, you are provided with a pair of nuts and bolts to secure them to each other. The nuts are locking nuts, and in an attempt to tighten them down I bent one of the bolts. I discarded them and have had no issues with the handle coming free from the base.I travel in the winter and do a good amount of ice fishing. I decided instead of purchasing the entire kit, to piece it together and adapt it for ice fishing. These are the part numbers I used:010-12672-05 - Tilt/Swivel Mount with Quick-release Cradle (12-pin) (ECHOMAP™ Plus 7Xsv)010-11849-08 - Portable Kit Base and Handle010-11849-05 - Soft Carrying Case010-12445-00 - Threaded Power/Data Cable (4-pin)010-11948-00 - 8-pin Ice Transducer to 4-pin Sounder Adapter Cable010-12122-10 - 8-pin Transducer to 12-pin Sounder Adapter Cable with XID010-12401-20 - GT8HW-IF Ice Fishing TransducerWith the above items I can simply take the head unit, wrap it up safely in my bag, and have the complete setup in both locations. As another user specified, this is for the 73sv w/CHIRP. I would read the other reviews as well. I got most of my part numbers from another users posting and they worked perfectly.

I bought this along with the 010-12462-00 Portable Kit so I could use my Garmin EchoMap 73sv w/CHIRP for ice fishing, but be warned that you also need the Garmin 010-11948-00 4 pin ice transducer adapter cable and the 010-12122-10, 8 pin to 12 pin adapter cable for it to work. I spent hours researching what it would take to convert the EchoMap w/CHIRP for ice fishing and wanted to save the rest of you the hassle it took me. I originally set my EchoMap up with the transducer that comes with it, but it was a pain sticking it down the hole on a piece of pvc I attached to my 5 gallon bucket using a couple mop handle holders I picked up from the hardware store. I did make it work, but using this transducer should make it easier and allow you to remove the transducer quickly once I hook a fish. Good luck and happy ice fishing everyone.Update 02/24/17 FYI - Garmin tech support really messed me up on what I needed even though I told them I was buying a CHIRP ice transducer so I updated my original review with the proper information and need to let everyone know that there are 2 versions of EchoMaps. The older version without CHIRP has a blue 8 pin transducer socket and uses a different ice transducer where as the new version with CHIRP has an orange 12 pin socket. This CHIRP ice transducer has a 4 pin female connector on it, and I'm guessing from the wrong adapter cable Garmin tech support told me I needed, the non CHIRP ice transducer must have a 4 pin male connector on it. If you have the older Echomap without CHIRP, Garmin tech support says you will need the 010-11947-00 8 pin cable to 4 pin transducer cable with the proper nonCHIRP transducer which I don't have the part number for.
