Takes about 14 pumps to get the water suction started, but then works like a charm. The included net and mounting bracket make for a tidy look near a hot tub. Filter easy to clean.

I purchased several of these for use at Airbnb properties. They are for my cleaning crew to use. The pump works ok if you want to clean debris larger than .25 inches. It does not work for sand or small dirt particles.The pump is also impossible to clean once the screen (bag that catches debris) is full. 7 of 8 pumps purchased broke while trying to get the screen out and are are useless.The last pump I purchased was bent when delivered and impossible to use. A general note is that when you receive the pump it looks as if someone did a terrible job at repackaging these. Half of the orders had boxes that were opened at one end with the pumps sliding out.Overall, not worth the money.

I use this pump daily to pick up leaves, dead bugs, etc. Has worked reliably for me for one year; just bought another to give to a friend. Does not pick up fine silt, but for larger particles works fine. I am also able to capture and dispose of live water bugs. A very good idea!

This thing literally barely works. Suction is terrible! It's big and akward and the main part has to stay submerged in order for it to work. I would be using this for an hour just on my little hot tub. To top it off, I returned it and they only refunded me $5.53!!!$%@#$ The piece of crap was like $50! You've been warned. I wish I would have listened to the bad reviews. I had just seen YouTube videos with similar pump vacuums and thought it would have been great for getting just the small sediment at the bottom of my tiny hot tub. What a joke.

For a $40 spa vac, this works great. My spa sits against the house, and grit from the roof shingles sometimes fall in. This sucks 95% of it up with 5-10 pumps (esp. the medium and larger stuff — just a few micro pieces left behind). Filter super easy to remove and rinse.Only negative is that in assembling the 4 main pieces, one of the components (which is itself 2 sections) wouldn’t stay together. Not sure what the design problem was — there were some tabs, but they wouldn’t lock into its mate). But I was confident that a few drops of crazy glue gel would solve the issue and it did. Deducting one star for that.Definitely recommend!

Suction is good. Easy to use. doesn't take up much space. We have a 6 ft spa and a 18 ft pool. We purchased it mainly for the spa because the pool has its own vacuum system. However, we also use it in the pool for quick, light jobs and it works well (but you need to get in the pool with it). I've used other more expensive models/brands and I'd rate this one at least equal to those. I wouldn't recommend it for a lot of heavy duty cleaning.

Unit actually works but the description says comes with leaf skimmer, dual nozzles and hanging mount. Well it clearly does not. I sent back the first one i bought and re-ordered. Only to get the same unit. False advertising

We had an issue with little cedar leaves falling in the hot tub and debris was accumulating at the bottom of the hot tub. it was hard to get with a skimming net. This worked great and sucked them right up. It is essentially a pump on a stick. You pump the broomstick and it runs water through a filter that collects the debris.

This works buy you pulling on the plunger rod and it intakes water/debris through the nozzle with a screen trap behind it. The water is then expelled on the downward motion with the debris trapped in the filter and you repeat. The screen is fine enough to filter out sand. It is not at all difficult to remove and clean for me as another reviewer said, very easy and the filter seems durable. The plunging action works well without too much effort - the faster you pull the plunger the harder the suction. I have no problem doing a 6'x6' hot tub.It seems to be made well...except for a small problem with the one I got. My only complaint was the plunger stop. It looks like they put a plunger stop behind the plunger head (this is the part that creates the suction when handle is pulled, like a syringe drawing medicine) that does not stop the plunger head from touching the top of the chamber. The "stopper" was a metal pin that protrudes maybe 1 mm. Over repeated use without a stopper, this will eventually loosen/break the plunger head. I resolved it by wrapping electrical tape behind the plunger head to make my own stopper.I give it a 4.5 stars.
