I ordered this assuming it was a bulk container of the same Gallagher's water mix (minus the sugar) that contains alfalfa and can be mixed as a drink for my horse. IT IS NOT. This is ONLY white, powdered electrolytes. This will not work for my horse as he is already taking electrolytes and can't be switching brands.I haven't opened the sealed bag inside this tub, but it is still NOT RETURNABLE, so I'm out the money and now stuck with expensive electrolytes that I can't use. Yes, these are expensive for what they are. My horse already has a 3-lb bucket of electrolytes that cost LESS than this small 1-lb container of the same minerals/salts.The Amazon description does NOT say "non-refundable." I only learned this when I tried to go through the return process and was denied.

We needed this for our two senior horses for the warmer summer days. It blends very easily into their feed or water and they taking it without any hesitation. It certainly gives us some peace of mind that our equines are getting their minerals and much needed electrolytes in the changing seasons. Highly recommend.

I like adding these to the water buckets in the summer or even to the food. Both of my horses will eat it mixed in with feed or drink their water.

Purchased this for hot summer days when I work my horse. The benefit is you can mix it in their water or mix it in with their feed. Both of my horses are outside unless it storms in the summer, so this will allow me to give it to the one horse and not have to worry about who gets it. It's supposed to replenish electrolytes that they lose during performance work, training, or just excessive heat. My horses are in their 20s so I'm hoping this will make things easier for him.

This dissolves quickly in water. It has the minerals I look for to replenish my animals when they are under stress. They seem to like it.

We always take electrolytes with us when we're on the road to shows with our horses. A lot of horses refuse to drink when traveling and can develop issues in a hurry. These electrolytes will help prevent expensive vet bills. These electrolytes include sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, manganese and copper. We feed our horses soaked beet pulp to help with water intake, and these can be easily added to the beet pulp or to their grain.Good produt for a reasonable price.

Wasn’t sure my horses would drink it but they love it

My horse is not a drinker. I have tried various additives and nothing works. Saw this and gave it a try. It is clear and smells nice and subtle and mixes in easily dissolving quickly. However, no noticeable difference in my horses water intake. Will continue to try as the weather heats up and see if anything changes and update accordingly. Perhaps even if he isn't drinking more, the electrolytes will help keep him better hydrated. If so, this would be wonderful.
