What's nice about this mulch is that there is very little dust and is long lasting. Previously, I used coconut nor in my torts enclosure and was extremely unhappy with the unsafe and harmful dust it created. Even when misted, the water just sat on the surface and the dust not only got into my torts eyes & nose but but throughout the house through the ventilation system. Whenever I cleaned his cage, I'd spend two days sneezing dark brown powder and coughing.I am happy to say that this mulch solved all of those problems! Although it is costly, compared to the store bought ZooMed brand or other alternative bedding choices (ex: recycled paper) it is far better quality- there is next to no dust, no sharp hair thin splinters of bark stabbing you and no unwanted smells. It is easy to clean up and dries quickly when wet.

I don't own a reptile. But I did buy a dormant bare root rose plant from the US branch of a breeder in England. I live in a hot climate so mulch is used to help keep the roots from getting too hot. I didn't want to spend money on a giant bag from a garden center when I only needed a small amount. This bag was perfect to add an inch or two thick layer on top of the soil in my 20x17 container. If it's great for my rose, it must be great for reptiles too.

Wasn’t sure of what to get for my breaded dragon. I saw one of my friends got this for hers. So I gave it a try. I was very happy with it. Only used a little more then half of bag for a 40 gallon tank. Not bad.

Very dusty. I don't know whether this is caused by shipping or if the product itself is like this. Once it gets wet and settles it's fine. Wood pieces are not too sharp, didn't give me any splinters. Mixed it with coconut husk for my ball python to help keep in some extra moisture.

This mulch is perfect for a reptile. I am using it for my African Spur Tortoise in her outside enclosure to help keep her warm and it works great with her heat light. The mulch keeps warm but also has some moisture. She loves burrowing in it. The bags are not big, I bought two and it only covered the bottom of her home by an inch but her home is an Igloo Dog house. But she moved it around and it is now perfect how she wants it. There is no smell from it. It is easy to clean stool, urine not so much but it does not smell. One to two bags would be good for an enclosure. The bedding is a soft mulch too. I highly recommend it.
