About Gabriel

Starting in 1907, Gabriel invented the original shock absorber, followed by the first hydraulic shock absorber, the first adjustable shock absorber and the first air adjustable shock absorber. And today, it's still that same innovative, independent American company--building high-performance shocks and struts that cover over 96% of North American vehicles. Gabriel continues adding new product coverage, including expanding their line of ReadyMount strut assemblies, which make installation faster, safer and easier. Couldn’t believe the low low price the seller was asking for a top quality pair of air shocks for my Mopar.Delivered quickly and damage free.

don't forget to inflate them to at least 25 psi to push the rod shroud up the shaft to protect the shaft from damage. Easy installation. Truck now rides better than new. I installed these on a 2018 chevy Colorado with 70,000 miles on it. The original shocks are about 1/2 the size and weight of these. The ride quality is incredibly improved.

A must have for a lowered chevy .I lowered my truck 2/4 and it would bottom out easily on a bump and these fixed that with 40psi in them .it also seems to have a better ride ..can also easily add more air for a heavy load.no leaks so far

Great quality shocks. Currently running a pair on the back on my 3 wheeler as air bags. They required modification but as a test set are handling everything pretty good 👍One thing to watch for is if you are looking for eyelets on top and bottom 👆The top is not an eyelet on the 13" model. It is made to bolt upwards into a mount. The 15 inch model has eyelets on top and bottom.Easy to fix but the picture can be deceiving.

I purchased these to put on my Chevy Silverado 3500 to help level my load when pulling my camper. Do these installed very easy and did the job very well. The shock itself is of good quality however if there was anyone fault with this, it would be the plastic Key filler connection where I would have preferred to see a brass filler valve T and brass connector instead of plastic. So far no leaks and the ride quality is good. They were a perfect fit and a good value solution for leveling my truck when hauling my camper.

Very good so far, no issues and will see if they handle a pretty good load pulling a trailer behind shortbed 1996 GMC 4X4 heading to Florida.

I decided to purchase these to help with sagging and overall ride quality on my truck. I have a 2004 Silverado LS extended cab truck. It has a belltech drop kit. Its lowered 2" in the front and 4" in the back. The truck overall has a level stance but I do have a fiberglass tonneau cover so it sag very little due to the weight. Anything I put in the back makes it worse. I was pleased with the shocks, they were bigger in diameter than expected. I've include some pics to compare the size of the old shock to the new one. The installation was not difficult. The instructions are not great but if you have ever replaced anything on a vehicle you can manage changing out the shocks. I really advise to have the right tools I had to find a small bar so that I had more leverage to break the bolts loose. Other than that the only problem I had was that the valve stems are short and fit deep instead the valve. The tire inflator that I have will not push down on the valve stem so it will not take air. I am planning to correct this by trimming down the valves so that the inflator will be able to reach farther and engage the valve stem. Reading other comments it seems other people have had the same issue. You might be able to unscrew the valve stem but when I tired it, it would leak air. I was going to try to hook the hoses up to a firestone air gauge that I have mounted in the truck but the air hoses on the shocks are very very small. I was surprised on how thin of a hose it uses. I am going to have to see if I can find some reducers to even consider hooking things up to a gauge. With that being said do not expect these to air up fast like air bags. There will not air up fast but they will air up.

I have installed these on 4 GM cars and I am very happy with the results. The first set I installed in a 1978 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon back in 1984. I still drive the wagon. The shocks seem to last about 11 years in Arizona, slightly longer than OEM air shocks. When they fail, after about 11 years, it's because they develop a slow air leak that gradually gets worse. Gabriel has a Lifetime Warranty on these, so use the warranty if you keep you cars like I do.These days when I install these shocks I also replace the coil springs, which tend to loose their height over the years. I like the variable-rate springs better than the original fixed-rate factory springs. For GM B-body wagons I like the Moog CC623 springs best. You will need new rubber isolators for the top and bottom of these springs, Moog k6203-2 (2 in a box).If you are replacing air shocks on a Chevy, Buick or Cadillac that had OEM air shocks for ALC, (Automatic Level Control), you will want a way to tie into the original air line, assuming your compressor is still working. This is because the ACDelco air shocks used a unique left shock with a built in "Tee" to send air to the right shock. So get a Monroe AK16 accessory kit, which is basically a "Tee" that accepts the air line tubing size. The OEM tubing and the Gabriel tubing are slightly different, but the Monroe "Tee" works with both sizes. Once you get this setup working with the ALC compressor, you can adjust the trim (rear-end height) with a 10mm wrench on the sensor lever mounted above the rear axle. All this stuff is available on Amazon, and at very reasonable prices. So if your rear end is dragging, or you do a lot of towing, this is the way to go.
