I recently purchased these Child Safety Strap Locks to help secure the freezer in my home, and I'm so glad I did! Should have ordered something like this years ago. Very easy to install on my trashcan. Very easy to open but so easy a child might be able to open it, my dogs can't so perfect for me to use. Love that it came as a set of 2 so if something happens I have one ready to go. If needed would order again simply for the easy of opening

I have these on a large buffet type cabinet. So far, it is toddler proof! The four year old has figured out how to open it! The stickiness seems to work well.

Both straps broke immediately with only slight tugging. The strap pulled out of the clip end. The adhesive was strong and remained in place, but that's the only positive with these. Will be returning.

My daughter used this to keep younger family members from entering her room and she could not get the base where the button is placed to stick on the wall I don't know if it's because the door frame it bumpy, but it will not stick.

These locks work as intended, but if you pull too hard the straps will break apart fairly easily. For a toddler or baby without a lot of strength they might work okay, but an adult (who forgets these are in place) can easily just pull them apart with light to moderate force. I think they are more of a deterrence than an actual prevention. They won't keep a determined person from just pulling them apart.I got these to hold the door of an aging refrigerator shut (the door seals/magnets need replaced but we are going to get a fridge soon anyway), and they work well for that purpose. However, even the slightest tug by someone who forgot it was there will cause the strap part to separate at the ends where it goes into the lock part. I've been able to put the straps back together and reinforce them with tape so that I can keep using the locks. They do a great job at holding the door shut as long as there is no extra force being applied.
