We pranked my mother in law at thanksgiving with this. It hid easily, is well built, and the battery last for DAYS!!! It was on for about 5 hours at my mother in laws, then we hid it in my brothers house for a few hours. Both cracked up about it! Along with the rest of the family!Then my 6 year old turned it on and hid it somewhere in his room and it has been meowing for over a week now! And I can’t find it!! So in the end I got myself. Haha!!Would seriously recommend this! I’m about to buy the cricket to prank a friend and put it in her office!!

I decided I needed to add meow to my Halloween costume, and this was the best one on Amazon that I could find. Despite some of the reviews, I purchased, as I only needed it for a day. It is too fun--two different meows. The best part--I am still having fun with it a week later. Now, as an added note, I do not leave it on but about 20-25 minutes. The fun, is I can turn it off and turn it on to get the different meows back to back, if needed.

If you're looking a for noise maker to amuse kids briefly, it'll do the job. I'm not sure what the battery life is on it. there are a couple cons for a cheap noisemaker. One, the switch isn't very well protected, so it's easy to accidentally turn it on, especially if it's in a suitcase for transport sake. a user will want to wrap it in a dry washcloth or something to help keep the switch from being tapped. the other con, is that there are only 2 sounds, one coming off like a curious or begging sound from a cat. Then there's the cat shriek. having 4 or 5 actual sounds would be an improvement, as would the sound recordings themselves, which sounds pretty "mechanical." Adding a timer into the mix will help, too. It might be prank-worthy to kids12 and under, yet anyone older will zero in quickly to the obvious.

This product sounded nothing like a cat and only worked if you pressed the button each time. Very poor quality.

I was happy to receive my Amazon package while at work and on a lunch break. I was pretty disappointed when I first tried the product as it did not work. Per the instructions, you are supposed to hold the button down for 2 seconds then hear a meow letting you know it is on. I held the button and.... nothing. I pressed the button and released and ..... nothing. I held the button for longer than two seconds and .... nothing. I tossed it back in the package and in the Amazon box to return it. I also bought the cricket which had different instructions and worked. After verifying the cricket worked I started fiddling with the meow-er again. I remembered some reviews talking about a magnet (which is probably just the tiny speaker's magnet). Only metal I had was a screwdriver, and yep, their was magnetic pull. I pressed and released the button one more time and it let out a small electronic "crunch" noise, then a single meow.Well, it works. The instructions forget to mention that one meow is on. The cat fight meow is off.It is completely sealed and designed to be thrown out when the battery dies. When it does I will cut it open to replace - it's probably soldered.It would be MUCH better w/o the cat fight meow. One meow for on, double meow for off. Even though the cat fight meow is too loud, good placement makes the difference. The timing between meows is perfect. Going to be a lot of fun!

This has been one of my favorite purchases to date. It worked as described with two different cat tones. I hid around work at multiple locations within the office, and had a good time at home as well. Only suggestion I would make is to test where you're placing it beforehand. It is much louder than expected, and if it's too exposed it sounds like a fake cat noise, where as hidden (drawer, closet, glove box, etc.) it sounds more realistic since it's a bit more muffled. My wife thought my 3 year old was going crazy since she kept saying, "Mommy, there's a cat in our closet", and our office manager emailed the building manager that our alarm system was making cat noises. I haven't laughed that hard in a while!!
