I used an older model of this product and the only thing I miss is that on the older model I could keep adding pages because it asked me if I was finished. Other than that, this is a god send. You can unload your house of many file cabinets of records with this handy little machine. It scans one 8.5 x 11 page in two seconds, just amazing. It's easy to use and pretty sturdy.

This machine is perfect. I am a small business owner, and talk about a MANDATORY tool. I bought the S1300 first, way too slow for my needs. You can stick 40 sheets of paper in this thing and it zips through them flawlessly. We have rid ourselves of 5 huge file cabinets and went completely digital storing on the hard drive and backed up to Google Drive with a SSD hard drive back up as well. Soooo much easier to find files this way. These are just perks of this machine. I have fought envelopes of receipts for years. They never seem to go away and have of them get lost. This thing will scan 3-5 receipts at a time FAST and on receipt function it saves it with the vendor and the date. We have a file for each employee saved with the month and year. Talk about a life saver. The final thing I will say is about the display on the scanner, very nice feature so you don’t have to get into the computer to go from files to receipts etc. This thing has paid for itself as far as I am concerned and allowed us to get so much more simplified.

I reluctantly purchased this scanner out of necessity. I had another Scansnap for years and it was great until I tried updating the firmware. During that process, the update froze/stoped and apparently fried the scanner. It was working perfectly fine before that and I suspect the company did this on purpose so I would have to buy another scanner. The new one doesn't feel to be of the same quality. More plastic and a lot less weight. I try and maintain a paperless office so a scanner is essential for me.

I have spent a lot of money on different brands of scanners, including other models made by Fujitsu. I started scanning several years ago using a Neat Scanner and I thought at the time that it was the cream of the crop. I used the Neat Scanner for several years until I moved to a new manufacturing plant, in which I decided to try a Fujitsu iX500. This scanner was way better than the Neat Scanner and had parts that were replaceable, which I enjoyed. When I moved manufacturing plants again, I went to buy another iX500, but they were unfortunately discontinued. I was a bit apprehensive with purchasing the iX1500, but decided to take my chances. It works so great that I decided to buy a personal one for my house. The only downside is that the iX1500 is touch screen. I haven't had any issues because of the touch screen, but I did like the push buttons of the iX500. If given the chance, I would purchase a iX500 over an iX1500, but I would never go back to a Neat Scanner. If you have a lot of documents to scan for work or home, I would recommend getting one of these. It can definitely help clean up the clutter.

So I bought this thing to scan important paperwork and it wouldn't install unless I installed every piece of crap Windows update ever produced, is Fujitsu in league with the devils at Microsoft? I put off doing that forever but then I had to scan a ton of photos, as in hundreds, so I thought okay I'll put up with Microsoft bloating and slowing my computer to nothing but a marketing tool for MS just to be able to speed this photo process up.Well MS did just what I knew it would do to my computer and then Fujitsu stuck it to me too for being so naive to think it would be worth it as this is the worst product I've bought in a long, long time. I don't think I've hatred a product as much as this one ever actually and I've had some other crappy experiences that would make a grown man cry.First off like others have said the user interface (UI) is total garbage, dumbed down so bad it would insult a monkey yet complicated to use at the same time... that took some effort trust me. Sure it gives you a ton of geek candy tweaks that only 1% of the buyers of this product would ever use, but these are at the expense of what you do need for what this thing is intended for yet it leaves those needs at best to just an A or B choice if addressed at all.Next once when you set it to automatically identify documents, receipts or photos, you would think it could since obviously they obviously marketed it could right? NOPE! It identifies photos as documents most of the time and sometimes as receipts but never once did it detect a photo... not once! Oh and a lot of the time it auto-corrects the photos orientation so it comes out upside down or sideways. Just turn that "feature" off as you'll correct this things screwing up more than your own mistakes! Nice Fujitsu, way to show off your state of the art abilities!Oh but wait this not ready for prime time piece of overpriced junk isn't done giving you buyers regret, it will flat out hog your computers memory as it is the worse resource hog I've ever seen, it starts no less than 14 different resource hogging processes. I'm not even using the PDF function so as to try and force it to scan everything as a JPEG photo file and it still runs Adobe processes not just once but twice in the background and though I'm not using the Cloud (come on kiddies it's an offsite server not something you drew in kindergarten!) it has several associated processes just cobbling up resources all of the time. I have a big suspicion that it is constantly contacting the Fujitsu mother-ship all the time too as that is way too many processes for its basic function even for these fail grade Fujitsu programmers poor attempt at doing even the most basic coding. So I thought okay I'll live with this resource eating up hog too but only while scanning, I really need these photos scanned!... uh, no... Fujitsu's programmers (I use that term very loosely here) decided they wanted their program to permanently kill your computers speed by keeping EVERY process running even when the program isn't running. That's right, it never goes away, it's there stinking like last weeks bad fish in the garbage can! This always running process list includes both of the Adobe plugin's and the Cloud phone home processes (yes plural) Really? Again I'm left wondering if the programmers of this junk didn't cheat to graduate college if they even attended one!So now I'm stuck with this overly expensive, pain to use, won't do what it says it will, never goes away resource hog, piece of junk! I guess I should have known right after installing it as it actually loads a quick start in your Windows Start program list called "Inquire into the problem"... never have I ever seen that before! They even have it before the actual "run"the program! All I can say is wow , just wow...PLEASE DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE FANBOY REVIEWS HERE, maybe some are only scanning receipts, which for a device this expensive, it's way overkill to perform such a minimal function or they're shills hired by Fujitsu to try to keep this thing selling until they make their development money back on it with fake positive feedback.Oh and Fujitsu reps if you're reading this, please don't say "we're sorry... please contact... help is just a click away or some other trite BS! I worked your help site over with a fine tooth comb to get solutions to all of these issues to no avail. If you want to help me then send me a refund check and I'll gladly send this junk back to you! You can put it on the conference table just before you fire the entire development team responsible for this thing. No need to thank me Fujitsu for such an honest and spotlighting review your failed product, let's just call it... I don't know.. maybe the kind of service like what you provided to me.

I LOVE this thing. So good, clear, and easy to use. Set up is a little tricky, so I had my computer savvy husband help. Having the techie in your life nearby would be good for set up on this one, but after that, it's easy and, honestly, amazing at speed and clarity.

I fell in love the second I unpacked this device. I also got the black version which I am super happy about. It is so well built. The software on Windows ran without any issues. One button push results in documents appearing in my folder as PDFs. FUJITSU has always been one of my favorite brands and they did not disappoint here. This is an absolutely excellent product.

I bought this ScanSnap scanner to replace an earlier S510 scanner that I had had for years. Like the first scanner, this one is a workhorse! Rare paper jams. Good selection of quality levels, where "Normal" produces clear images more than sufficient for document scanning. This new model is faster, holds a bit more paper, is quiet and efficient. Installation was a breeze and the scanner was set up within minutes. I just don't think that there are better scanners on the market, especially for home and home-office use, than those made by Fujitsu!

This is my first ScanSnap (upgraded from Neat Desktop). Overall, I really like it. It is lightning fast compared to my Neat Desktop! The processing, too is incredibly fast!Since I never used the old software I have no issues with the new one. I find it pretty easy to use.My only complaint is that my long receipts always jam. I have a Neat Receipt Scanner I can use for those, but it is a bit annoying having to use a different unit (I have tried both with the guides and without and regardless when I scan long receipts [tried a few] it always jams).
