item was the right one but I COULD NOT HEAT THE LINE UP ANOUGH TO GET IT ON WITHOUT DAMAGING THE NYLON LINE HAD TO ORDER NEW LINE AND FITTING ABUUT 132.00 DOLLARS FOR 3 FOOT LINE.

Broke a fuel fitting while trying to take off my valve covers on my Ford Escape V6, and this was exactly what I needed to repair it. Clicks into place just like the OEM fitting, and no leaks!Getting the 1/4" fuel line to go on this new fitting was difficult, but I managed to get it with some heat.

Used this and some fuel line to replace a broken line on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The tube is seemingly undersized and difficult to push on without the expensive kit. I ended up using a brake flaring clamp to hold the fuel line and my drill press to push the fitting straight into the fuel line. With this method it slipped on without the need for heating and since it was being pushed straight the fuel line did not get bent or creased.

I ordered the 5/16 to 1/4" version. One arrived with the inner green locking tabs already broken in the bag. The moment I touched the other connector the tabs on it broke as well. The green plastic locking piece is very thin and brittle. I wouldn't trust these in a critical fuel application and are the second set I've purchased on Amazon with issues, will only be buying from trusted brands/vendors like Jegs or Summit from now on.
