This new gas cap fits correctly on my old Stihl MS260. The new cap seals correctly and keeps the gas in. In the photos you can see all of the parts of the old gas cap; what a horrible design. I'm not sure why a Stihl cooked up such a complicated and expensive design. What a waste, however this new cap works well.

First, the description is a little vague. This is a 2 piece set that replaces your fuel and oil cap. I didn’t realize that the fuel and oil cap were slightly different in size but they are. I ended up buying 2 of these due to being unsure and now I have an extra set as a backup. They both fit perfectly on my Stihl 200T. Highly recommend if your fighting the crappy factory Stihl ones that break over time.

The oil cap fits my Stihl MS210C. I have changed my review! The fit is so tight that I was afraid that I would break it if I turned harder. I broke the original oil cap. So, I bought a cap from a local ACE hardware, being very surprised that ACE had one (it was in the back, not on display). It was even harder to turn all the way. Thus, I am going to use the one from HIPA. HIPA WAS SO GOOD ABOUT THIS - they offered my money back and to keep the product!!! Well, I will keep the oil cap and not request a refund for this HIPA quality product. HIPA included a fuel cap, too.

These caps both fit good and tight, one is sized to fits the Fuel and the other one is sized to fits the "Bar Oil" Reservoir. I had bought my Stihl MS 250 in 2008 and after 16 years of common home owner and land owner of 250 acres use, the stock caps were not a tight fit any more with the Bar Oil cap was leaking pretty bad. I remover the old caps by using a small flat screw drive to remove the keeper string by pushing it down gently and installed the new one by guiding the knot on the end of the string with my finger. It was easy peazy. These were a great fix for me.

Put a little oil on it to free them up to open and close and they work great. Got like a charm

Overall happy with purchase. Came defect free and appears to be doing its intended job. Only used it for 2 days so far, so we’ll see if it holds up. Not much of an issue, but it is a bit harder to lift the locking lever that allows you to unscrew it from the tank than my original gas cap was. I’m guessing it will loosen with time and use. Again, overall it works well and I’m happy with the purchase.
