My 8yo daughter makes and sells pot holders to finance her annual summer camp fees and make spending money. Shes tried lots of different loops and these are her absolute favorite! They’re nice and stretchy, weave well, and they do NOT shrink when taken off the look like the cheapo loops do. :)

I have a friend who drives for eight hours to come and stay several days over the 4th of July every summer. One of our favorite things to do is to pull out the red metal looms, hooks, the colorful cotton loops, and then we sit down with our margaritas and make ourselves a new patriotic pot holder in red, white, and blue. After so many years, the traditional holiday colors ran short, and I was happy to find them right here in Amazon. These loops are all cotton, and mostly a consistent size (no overly thin ones or overly fat). I keep everything in a cloth tote bag, and take it down from the shelf in one fell swoop when the next fourth of July comes around. The potholders that we weave have lasted for many, many years; they are easy to wash, and even with the tiny bit of shrinking, they still offer the best heat resistance of any other pot holder i have ever tried. Now, I use nothing but these! (One word of warning: be prepared to have a few little bits of cotton thread adorning your t shirt once you have finished; this never bothers me, because by that time, the margarita and the loom weaving havemade all of my petty cares and woes completely evaporate! :)
