Happy to have a proper metal loom. The extra size is fantastic. Yes, the loops provided are a bit raggedy, but not too bad and I'll need to make/buy more loops anyway.

I purchased the Large Prosize 10" Loom for making Potholders & other related crafts. The loom is metal & the hook also. It came with a metal crochet type hook for finishing the potholder. It's a little more difficult to weave on than the smaller loom I have but due to size you're weaving through more loops & finishing is harder to keep the last side on the pegs. I use my left hand to put tension on the last loops so they don't come off before I can finish. It makes a nice size potholder & I look forward to trying other projects with it.

This loom is very sturdy and easy to use. Love the larger size. Makes a pot holder that can actually be used as a potholder. The hook is also sturdy and directions for beginners are clear and well written. Definitely glad I purchased this loom!

I debated investing in this and all the loops needed once you have it. This is not a cheap hobby. However, it makes for a great gift giving product in the end,I’ve made lots of hot pads now and handed them out as gifts. People are always tickled to get something pretty and useful. So, if you break down the cost as an actual gift (handmade to boot), it makes the investment worth every penny and you get the very simple joy of doing something you probably did as a kid with nylon loops that melted when you used them. The loom itself is super sturdy and the cotton loops actually vary with color. Black is the sturdiest, white the least sturdy (they tend to fray out more easily). Could be my imagination, but I’m sticking to that evaluation for now. This purchase has become a huge hit. If you can afford it, go for it. I would get the smaller loom for kids.

I really love the ease of putting the loops over the pegs of the loom to begin creating my own potholder. This loom is very well made and there are no rough edges to “catch” your loops or snag the thread as you weave your potholder. The weaving hook has both a small and large end used for “snatching” hold of your loops to work the loops over and under each brightly colored loop of thread. The loops of thread are stretchable yet sturdy and can easily be woven and pulled into place.I have had plastic looms before which are too flimsy. This loom is metal, sturdy, and holds the loops in place without slipping off the pegs.I am very happy with this purchase and I think you would enjoy this craft in your leisure time. Not only is the finished product beautiful but it is useful and should last through many occasions cooking in your home.I have two potholders which I made years ago and they are still in use every day in my kitchen. They also make wonderful gifts!Lucindy G.

This metal potholder loom kit is very sturdy and allows you to create 8.5" x 8.5" square hot pads. This size is probably too large to use as a potholder but is great for hot pads for larger serving dishes or pots. Both hooks in my kit are metal; the crochet hook used to finish off the potholder is a size 6.5 mm. My kit included 100% cotton loops in 12 colors; the loops are all of very good quality thread. The distribution of loops to colors is not even, so you will likely NOT be able to make two IDENTICAL hot pads, but there were enough to make two with a few loops left over. As you can see in my photos, I was able to produce one potholder that is basically the same pattern as that on the product packaging, but I had to come up with a different pattern for the second one. If I had to do it again, I would make two like the second potholder; not identical, but they would be a better match for each other.I found that using the loom is pretty easy, although as you are weaving the loops it does take some effort to pull the loops under/over the last 3-4 vertical loops in a row. The last 3-4 rows are also more difficult as there is a lot less 'give' to the vertical loops the closer you get to the end. I found that in order to keep the loom from moving around on my table and to help me pull through each row, I was resting my left arm over some of the metal pegs. Using this large loom is a bit rough on the fingers, knuckles, and arms as you work with the loops and brush over the metal pegs.I bought this kit because I was looking for some craft to keep my hands busy at night to keep me out of the snacks. This is perfect as I can complete a potholder in about an hour and with all of the different colors available and endless pattern possibilities, I can create unique gifts and may even start selling them. I have also decided to buy the smaller 7" loom to make smaller potholders and hot pad/potholder sets and to show my grandkids how to weave.

Love the loom and made two great potholders, but the hook wasn't in the package. I contacted customer service to ask for a hook to be sent along but they refunded me the full amount instead so I really can't complain. Found an old crochet hook that does the trick just fine.
