Makes a huge mess but cuts window and door openings through 3/4” plywood or Advantech like a hot knife in butter. Leaves a perfectly cut smooth finish with no tear out, bearing rolls effortlessly around the framing but it sure leaves a massive amount of wood chips. Its also great for leaving a perfect edge at outside corners.I read one review where the person said “make sure you oil the bearing”, not sure what he got but mine has a sealed bearing, there’s nothing to oil or grease, pitting oil on it will do nothing since the bearings are sealed and have no need to be oiled.

I've purchased other brands of router bits from Amazon before, only to find that they aren't made to the same standards as Freud. Lesson learned, cry once, pay once. Don't try to save any money here by purchasing cheaper bits made in China. I've found them to be unbalanced and causing chatter on my projects. Wood isn't cheap.

Not much to add. It's exactly what you expect from a Freud router bit. It's sharp, very well, durable and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Freud tends to cost a bit more than some of the more generic stuff out there, but the cost is definitely warranted.

This bit was about 72% cheaper than my local box store. I ordered it to use on some Adirondack chair templates and it cut through 3/4" board like butter - I did not have to pre-trim the boards at all (a bit abusive on the bit I admit). I immediately ordered a second.

I'm giving the bit itself 5 stars. This is my first Freud bit, I wanted to start small and cheap to decide for myself whether all the hype over Freud bits is true...it is! The bearing is silky smooth, the cut is clean and burr free and the edge stay sharp, what else could you want!? As for the product description, watch out. The Amazon description claims you will get a "two flute bit" and a "three flute bit"...I figured, not a bad price for two bits. What actually arrived?...a single, "two flute" bit. After chatting with customer service, he agreed the description did indeed reference a two bit(pardon the pun) set, and agreed to send a replacement. The replacement, another single "two flute bit"...after talking again, Amazon agreed to refund $5 to my CC and allow me to keep both bits(the original and the replacement). So in the end, I got two bits for ~8, not bad, but I'm not sure if they'd do the same again. So, bit quality, a resounding 5 stars, product description, 1 star, Amazon CS, 5 stars...sounds like a 4 star average to me!
