A usable rack at a good price. What looks to be an identical rack on a surf, ski and bike storage website sells for nearly $100 more. As you can see, the 5 bike capacity is a bit of a stretch. If you are going to be putting bikes on and taking them off with any regularity, 3 is really the most it realistically can hold. I also don't know if this rack would withstand kids beating on it day in and day out for years, but for what I use it for... it should be fine.Easy to put together and relatively stable when loaded. Do not use power tools assembling it, because the metal is a fairly soft alloy. Not a fan of how the two piece uprights go together with a couple hokey brackets and would prefer the upper piece inserted into the lower one with a bolt for each side. This design is probably easier and cheaper to manufacture though.I mounted the hooks hanging down as others have. I center punched and drilled a 5/16th inch hole so the pin inserts on top and holds the hook in place. Works fine this way.

Unit can hold 5 bikes in less space that 3 adult bikes normally take up, only had 4 of my bike on for picture. Unit is solid and easy to assemble by oneself. Unit stands around 6' 8" so was a little close to fit in my shed but worked out nicely.

Easy to assemble and sturdy. We were able to fit 5 adult bikes on it but we did modify it a bit. Installing the hooks facing down rather than sideways put a lot less pressure on the tire. We were worried if one got jostled a spoke would be bent the way you're supposed to do it. A few zip ties were all it took. Nbd. Other than that it is a really great value.

Functionally it fits 4 adult bikes, and a extra frame. The build tolerance aren't perfect but good enough, and once it's all put together it's square enough. The black finish is good enough.Oddly the bubble wrap packaging smelled like black liquorish, but once it was out of the plastic no smell

This is good but far from perfect.I understand the internal packaging setup was intended to protect the rack but it took me over 10 minutes just removing all the plastic and tapes away, assembly was easy but LONG. It took me ~1 hour give it or take. When assembled it seems sturdy, but my first issue: I have a heavy MTB with wide tires (29x2.3") and it was not easy to put it on the hanger and it didn't feel secure at all. Instead of hanging by the wheel, it seems it was putting a considerable pressure on a single spoke instead.Removing the bike with the big tires was not amazing either. Regardless, the experience was pretty much ok for the other bikes I tried, a kid's bike and a carbon fiber (lightweight) with drop bars.Does it fit 5 bikes? I think it would be challenging, specially given all the moves needed to take bikes on/off the rack.I don't know of a better option but I'd sport alternatives knowing all I'm going through.

Not sure if it would hold 5 adult bikes but it does hold 2 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes easily. Doesn't take up a ton of space and is very user friendly.. but use at least two people to put it together.

This free standing rack is exactly what I needed. I already have bikes hanging from the ceiling. My big problem was needing more bikes. The rack solved the problem giving me more floor space to move around in my garage. It was easy to assemble. Took about 20 minutes to set up with my driver and socket set. You might be able to replace the footpads with caster wheels to make it mobile. This will be my next project to make it easier to clean around the rack.I was able to fit five adult size mountain bikes on the rack by alternating the position of the handlebars. The only drawback is the tight fit. I plan on serving as the bike valet for my wife when she needs her bike.edit to add: Although I can squeeze the hook around a 2.2" mountain bike tire an rim, it is a tight squeeze that requires tilting the wheel just right for the fit. It would be fantastic if the manufacturer made larger hooks available as an upgrade.

This bike rack was fairly easy to assemble and all the parts were included. I liked that the height can be adjusted to suit but the rack really is best if you have multiple similar sized ones. Comes with 5 hooks but you really need to tetris the bikes in to fit 5, 4 is easier. Generally needs to be relatively strong to load and unload so don't expect kids to be able to do it themselves on a regular basis. You're essentially lifting the whole bike up off the ground to hang it up without intermediate support or being able to rest the back wheel on something etc. Doesn't work with fat tires, a little tricky with kids BMX size tires too but ok.
