In almost 60 years of driving and wrenching on vehicles I had never had a problem with any Fram filters before now this one. The filter fit into the filter box on my 2023 Subaru Outback. The polymer gasket however was so thick that I could not close the filter housing using the stock spring clips. The K&N filter fit perfectly. Very sad to see a trusted product that I grew up with perform so poorly.

Purchased to fit in a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek. Its a bit snug when closing up the filter housing probably because the plastic foam frame is a bit denser than on the OEM filter, but it fits cleanly into the housing and closed OK with a bit of effort. The Fram filter definitely has fewer folds than the Subaru OEM filter but this may not matter too much if you replace the filter every 18-20 Km as recommended.

It’s challenging to fit it into place. It’s thicker and wider than the previous one. I will definitely consider a different brand next time.

Ordered for my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, and it does fit but was snug to close the clamps on the cover. I think the orange gasket part is thicker making the cover harder to close. Other reviews said it fit so I ordered based on that. It does fit though. The stock one is more pleated, I posted pics to show the comparison, not sure if that matters. It took about 3 minutes to replace and no tools required. Dealer wanted $85 to replace so this was awesome at under $20!!

Searched on You Tube for a video to install this filter. Could not have been easier. It is tight fight, so the fit must be placed properly so the clips on the outside case can be closed. Easy DIY project and a nice cost savings over having the dealer or mechanic doing it.

The FRAM engine air filter was a perfect fit, quick & easy to install.It was about one-third the cost of the OEM "Denso" part (CDN $16.63 vs. $44.56).The FRAM filter was stamped "Made in USA" and did not include the metal mesh as shown in the listing photo, however the OEM Denso filter also had no mesh.This is a simple user-replaceable part that took less than 5-minutes and saved me a 3-hour return trip to the Subaru dealership.
