Your cart is empty.The Fowler 53-672-081 Steel Rectangular Economy Gage Block Set is identical to our standard sets in all respects, except for the broader range of tolerance which is more than adequate for most shop needs. These blocks are rectangular and are made of the finest grade high carbon / chrome steel that is fully stress relieved and hardened to 65 RC, lapped, and polished to a very low micro-surface finish. These blocks feature a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and they are carefully inspected for accurate size, parallelism, and flatness.

Can get a grade "B" ; for almost 200 less. The rated quality statistics compare less accurate then the set that I bought for $130 and is an 81 pc set.

A great value. I spot checked measurements and they were quite close to the reported values. The box was sturdy and undamaged. The screws of the hinge were a little loose, however. I expect this will be adequate for the home machining I will be doing. Interestingly, for the month or two that I had this on my Amazon wish list, I saw the price vary from about $163 to around $200. I bought it for $170.

I doubt these are accurate to the couple ten millionths....While they all wring together the dimension overall ends up being a thou too big at worst case.Though the shop is maintained at a 75F. So perhaps these gauges aren't made from the most thermally stable material.The wood case is good, overall good value but be sure to measure with a micrometer to double check.

Accuracy seems to be about on par with the certificate that came with the set. I’m giving 4 stars because it’s a good value, the product is exactly what it says it is, and the box they came in is pretty good. One star is removed because the blocks only barely wring together. This is a good set to have around in the shop while your a/aa set stays out of harm’s way.

The gage blocks are fine and the price is right. The box is crap. I sent the first one back. The second one came in broken also with 3 sides broken out . This was because there was no packing in the ends of the larger cardboard box it came in . Rather then send this one back I'll glue it back together myself.

Perfect for small shops and really great bang for the buck! Accurate beyond my ability to measure, but I can only measure down to tenth's (0.0001"). I am sure they live up to the specs on the enclosed certificate. Wringability was marginal out-of-the-box, but a couple of swipes on a gage block stone using a degreasing solvent as lube improved the wring to be quite solid, even when perfectly dry.
