These leak fron the top, so I threw them out & bought a higher quality tap to replace it. Reading other reviews it seems to be a common issue.

Good modification to improve a older GMC Suburban's air conditioning system. Shutting off the heater coolent to the front and back heater cores improves the amount of cool air moving through the HVAC system. This is due to the HVAC flap valves not always sealing as well as they should in older trucks. In 110 degree temps you need every improvent available.

The smooth lip on the metal tubing helps the hose clamps make a tight seal and prevent slipping off. These come in several different hose diameters; so make sure you're ordering correct size for your hose ID.

As reported by another reviewer it seems to run more towards a 3/4 so be aware its tuff to fit on a 5/8 line . So be prepared for a fight. Once installed though it is a solid choice. Looks like it will hold up for a good while.

Not for 5/8 heater Hose; one side is for a larger diameter hoseModel 84706 is the right one for 5/8 on both sides.Apply a light coat of grease on the treads before opening and closing them.Visible treads inside the valve must point towards the outlet, that is, so no particles accumulate on the threads and top seal.

Installed this heater control valve and immediately it leaks thru the valve stem badly. In order for Amazon to return it, I have to take the vehicle out of service to return the part all for a $14 and lose all that antifreeze. No thanks. Save your money. This part is Made in China junk.

I put mine into a 78 Corvette. Got tired of replacing the plastic valve that kept breaking. No leaks and it is exactly the right size.

Valve leaked immediately. I ignored the warnings of others and wasted my time by installing this poor quality item that was supposed to have been "factory tested". 1 star because delivery and return process was fine.
